Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

United KingdomGetting access to the flat was extremely stressful. The managers ZoomInns did not send me a few days before arrival their needs for me to submit photo ID and to pay online the £ 100 deposit before they would send the key code for entry. They only did this when I had left home and I was unable to do this from my phone or my cousin's computer. I had to get a friend staying in Bewdley to do all this from his phone and it was not easy for him too. Booking.com needs to insist that all their hosts send these requirements at least 2 days in advance to travellers. There was an emergency light in the ceiling which did not go completely dark at night, making it difficult to fall asleep especially on the first night.
The flat was well fitted out, comfortable and quiet.

United KingdomThe noise of the road might not suit some people but it helped me get up in the morning. Also the fire door closer was a bit squeaky. So I oiled it as a favour. I was worried about waking other guests when I got back late. The rest of the facility was more than satisfactory.
I liked the convenient location to my workplace. I also thought the facilities were more than adequate. All the mod cons of your own place in a little nutshell. (INCLUDING WASHING MACHINE AND COOKER) The lady on the phone who checked on me to see if I was settled in o.k was more than helpful. SUPERB VALUE. REALLY HAPPY.

United KingdomDirty!Unacceptable. Window facing the street which is quiète noisy etc… Very poor guest’s communication and carelessness. Cushions on the bed wet, bedsheets not changed, looked like someone had slept in the bed, full of bar and dust. The full studio full of dust, bed protection dirty, toilet dirty, guest stop responding as I was sending messages to explain what was wrong . All she wanted was her money, deposit that was difficult to go get paid etc. I did not sleep there and got a refund from booking. I ended up in Dudley . Careless guest.
Location is not bad. All the appliances were in the studio.

South AfricaCheck-in was badly planned , should have instructed us to do cash deposit before arrival. Done outside in the rain. Room was too small for a couple. Mattress was old with springs coming out of mattress. Cooker was temperamental. 1 heater not working, the other stuck on a high temperature. Utensils missing. No mirror or towel hangers in bathroom. Nothing to hang up washing. Coat hangers broken.
Good location for visit local places. There were maintenance problems but staff did try to rectify some problems and reported the problems that could not be fixed

United KingdomThey cancelled my daughter's room just before we arrived and asked for my id and deposit just before I arrived causing our family trip for my son's wedding to be a very stressful one. Rooms were not clean, very close to a main road so traffic all hours, draft from window made it freezing.
That it was close to the location we needed to be in.
