Room was dusty on arrival, I think works had been done in the room and not been cleaned up afterwards. Breakfast was sub standard, was bacon and eggs over cooked. Cold coffee.

Hotel was beautiful, Spa was really nice, staff friendly

This was for our honeymoon stay-cation. I did message ahead of time to let the hotel know. I ordered the romance package which was 74 pounds which turns out to be a 20 pounds bottle of champagne and some petals on the bed. Really underwhelming for something called the romance package and something costing 74 pounds, maybe some nice towel swans on the bed, chocolates or some petals on the floor leading to the bed, dont mean for the hotel to spend more but this is really disappointing. We were in a room with two single beds pushed together, making things uncomfortable, flickering lights, tap that was hanging off and the facilities weren't replaced from the previous people in the room. When we asked for it to be sorted they replaced the missing items but that was it. I wouldn't recommend the hotel itself but I would 110% recommend the restaurant and the spa! They were fabulous.

The spa and the restaurant were amazingly stunning. And hotel itself is beautiful.

No veggie sausages at breakfast. Our room was on the ground floor overlooking the car park. We asked for more towels but they said they had run out.

Location was excellent. Close to Chester and Cheshire Oaks. A nice large room and very good parking. Comfortable bed. Very nice staff.

We felt that our room could have been cleaner, there was a lot of dust, carpet could have been cleaned a little more thoroughly, and there was someone's jacket left hanging in one of the wardrobes.

Overall, we liked the hotel, facilities and food

On arrival Staff could have been more welcoming. Food in the restaurant was a bit basic and our fish was over-cooked and rubbery. Some of the minor bathroom fittings in the room were missing.

Very good sized room and bathroom. Pleasant dining room and public hotel areas. Countryside location vey close to Birkenhead Ferry Port. Staff in the restaurant very friendly.

Room lighting was poor, lamp on one nightstand only. Column in the middle of the room. The taps in the shower tub didn’t work great and the drain was very slow.

Bath was very roomy with lots of counter space. Pool, jacuzzi, and steam were welcome after a day on the road. Staff was very pleasant and accommodating.

Seats aren't too comfy in dining area. Serving staff needed to be reminded of drinks orders, at least on 2 occasions

Pool is a nice size. Reception staff really helpful. Size of the rooms were great, all had nice views. Good parking areas, lovely grounds. Food is good too and good selection of wine.

It’s not a massive problem but we stayed in room 55 which was beautiful, so much room and lovely modern bathroom. The only thing about the room was there was a bang coming from above and it wasn’t people walking around at it was constant so if you woke up in the middle of the night it was hard to fall back to sleep hearing the constant bang. We left the tv on to go to sleep initially to drone it out, it isn’t extremely loud but you can hear it in the night if you’re awake or wake up. I couldn’t really tell what it was and we didn’t contact the reception as like I said it’s in the night and we only stayed the one night to visit Chester zoo if we was staying for longer then it may have been more of a problem. But the place and the room were amazing.

Lovely location, really peaceful as the use of the spa included in the over night stay price is just amazing.

Nobody cleaned our room during our stay The spa/ pool area is very small There is no more than 6 loungers and they are green plastic loungers which you would expect in a garden not a spa, not comfy at all.

The noise each morning from others walking around creaking the floorboards above us from 07.00 am then at night from 22.30 pm, disturbed sleep

Room was okay, not being told in advance of road closure cost us an extra £25 for late booking our. Than at 12.30, 30 minutes before we were due to leave almost tripped over domestic mop buck left directly outside our room as I went out to check our car.

We had problems with the basin not draining and as a result it not being possible to get the water hot enough. This was tackled by the staff but it didn’t solve the problem. But it wasn’t a big enough issue to spoil the stay. I also took issue with the dinner deal which had I fully appreciated I would not have taken it up as I spent more than I would have. With the menu, it was not possible to have two course and keep them within the limit.

Lovely property well situated. Staff helpful and friendly. Comfortable bed.

Only bad point would be that we were a couple staying in the room and only one bath towel was provided. The waiters were also not that attentive on the next morning given that we had to stay longer due to the half marathon closing the road.

Beautiful scenery and building. Very comfortable stay and the spa facilities were exceptional.
