Exceptionally friendly staff changed layout of beds into 2 twin. Cleaning and towels exceptional. Very comfortable night sleep. Knowledgeable helpful and friendly reception staff

Although hotel was surrounded by scaffolding as it was being refurbished didnt really affect my stay. Couldnt get any cold water out of tap to clean my teeth in evening!

While our stay the hotel was under construction. We didn’t hear much noise but our view from the room was just constructions. The room was also pretty old but clean.

The location is really good. It’s a 2min walk from the beautiful Kensington Park and a lot of good shops and restaurants.

Lifts a bit erratic. Some confusion about whether there was any food available from the bar area - Reception says yes and bar staff says no! Obviously refurbishment work ongoing but wasn't originally advised my room would be with a window that had been obscured by boarding but the staff moved us immediately so it wasn't a big problem but an issue until resolved. Air conditioning in all rooms would be a benefit. Table fans aren't as effective.

When booking the room, it was not stated in the description that the room does not have a window. Hotel is currently under scaffolding.

The breakfasts were rich and the food was constantly replenished. There was a choice of English breakfast as well as ham, cheese, sweet and savory pastries and a selection of fruit. The coffee was of good quality, as was the selection of teas. Luggage storage also worked very well. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a quiet location right next to Kensington gardens, two minutes from the Queensway tube station.

Our room level did not have elevator services, the mezzanine level. It seems these old rooms were added as an afterthought when the hotel opened. It is accessible only by stairs, which is OK because hotel staff delivered our bags. However, the fire doors (labeled to be kept shut at all times for safety) where always propped open. My wife asked the front desk about that, and was told that while construction work is being done, the doors are propped open, but shut after workers leave for the day. This was not true! They keep the fire doors open through the night. When she shut just the door to our hallway (so we don't perish in a fire) someone would prop open the door again! We stayed 3 nights.

The location is very good, near train tube stations, shopping, dining, and the park.

Our room was directly next to a room being renovated we were given another room better standard but in basement where air con wasn't sufficient to keep the room cool. It was a great room but unfortunately felt like a sauna.The staff and location were excellent though!

There was an awful lot of very noisy and disruptive construction work being undertaken during my stay. An incredible amount of drilling noise began at 8:45am outside my room and thus prevented any sense of a restful morning, let alone anybody else who might be wanting to sleep before check out at 11am.

The foyer and public areas on the ground floor were open and bright, making for a welcoming entrance into the hotel.
