Tired paintwork and dated wallpaper, very noisy with bedrooms above. Could hear every single step. Communication via message about setting up sofa bed and providing a cot was missed by housekeeping team however when I raised this as a problem it was very quickly rectified by lovely ladies on reception.

I did not like the first floor room, which was accessed across the walkway in the annex up some stone stairs. Not very good when you're lugging a suitcase up the stairs, as my very petite granddaughter did.. The light fittings in the room looked a little unsafe, not secure to the walls, and we also had an issue with the water at one point. First, there was no water, then it was spluttering out of the taps. Staff advised there was an issue, and it was sorted in time for our showers the next morning, so it did not spoil our stay at all.

Warm welcome on arrival. We had a comfortable room, although it was a little dated. Tea and coffee was also available in the room and toiletries in bathroom, and nice, cosy towels. Breakfast was in a light airy room and catered for all needs from cereal, yoghurt toast, fruit, full English, or just poached egg on toast. There was plenty of choice to suit everyone's palatte. In all a very warm welcome and pleasant stay.

First room allocated looked rather tired and the steps up to the first floor were very steep.

Location 10 minutes drive into the town centre. Plenty of free parking. Nice quiet rooms in a courtyard setting. If you have mobility difficulties please ask for a downstairs room with shower. I didn’t ask and first room allocated was up steep steps and had a bath. Receptionist quickly found me a more suitable room. Restaurant was in a lovely conservatory. Menu had a good selection with 20% off for residents. Everything we ate there was very good. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

The need for refurbishment was pretty obvious, but it was not too bad, and not a show-stopper for me.

The hotel is a large, rambling complex that is obviously in need of refurbishment, but it was clean, comfortable, and the staff were efficient, friendly and sympathetic (my wife suffers from Alzheimers). The breakfast was perfectly fine, overall quality of service was good, and the hotel ticked all the important boxes, and I would be happy to return for another stay in the future. Your primary strength is the quality and performance of your staff. Thank you.

Definitely wouldn't stay in a ground floor room again, the noise coming from upstairs was so loud, you could hear every footstep every toilet flush. The restaurant wasn't as good as I was hoping

Property in need of some maintenance two lights in our room were defective.

The shower & bath were great, modern & plenty of hot water but please put chains on the old fashioned bath plugs as they are so difficult to remove otherwise ~ we had to use a teaspoon.

Clean, comfortable, spacious room. Appreciated the iron & ironing board, fan & extra heater in room should they be needed. Separate carpark for residents. Easy check-in experience.

The lighting could have been better. A couple of lamps were broken. Otherwise there wasn’t much to dislike.

The room was quiet and had a good sized bed. The bathroom was very smart and a generous size. Perfect for a nights stop over.

I loved the lamp but when I had a look at it could see was hanging for dear life in one screw. Some TLC and will worth more pennies. A lot of pretty big potholes heading to car park that could be leveled up. I could see other people when in the shower and when noticed had same type of window I ended up having mine in the dark as bit uncomfortable with the idea, could do with some blinds if windows not allowed be changed.

The room was very nicely decorated with a view to the garden which made the mornings lovely with the sun peeking through the leaves. Can notice the bathroom was upgraded and the bed was very comfortable, pillows including. Despite hearing all the steps from room above (felt like a tap dancer at 6am), the place itself was quiet despite having a busy pub. Breakfast was decent and the pub has a nice interior. Plenty of car park spaces and location was perfect for what I needed.
