    Nothing really.

Beautiful building. Rooms are clean and high ceilings etc. That staircase, wow. Great photo op. Staff were brilliant. Nothing too much trouble.

No in room information on things like breakfast time and location. Dietary and allergen requirements at breakfast could have been a challenge for some.

Quick check in and very friendly staff. Breakfast was lovely and made fresh.

Needs a refurb but still the room was clean and comfortable. Couple of things, no hotel info in room so no idea breakfast times or check out. And reception are on a call a mobile which is off putting. Would be good to see staff in uniform. Maybe a sign to say we are working in the back office ?

Central location. Really close to bars and restaurants. Car park 2 min walk away. Very secure car park.

The hotel was lovely, but be aware of Derby's loud nightlife!

The bed was a bit like a bouncy castle! I don't mind a softer mattress, but the constant movement means I didn't get the best sleep. This was also compounded by other noisy guests, and boy racers outside, but there isn't much the Hotel themselves can do about that.

The room was clean, tidy, and had everything you would usually find. I also liked that there was a fridge in the room! The hotel itself was such a pretty building, and the breakfast in the event room was lovely and plenty of choice available.

The only potential limitation is the front-desk hours, but this is not a genuine problem

The full English breakfast was excellent, with friendly and attentive service. This is a very grand old building, the lobby is spectacular, lots of character. The building itself is old, the carpets are well used, but everything is well maintained and very clean; the bathroom, plumbing and towels are new; the bed was very comfortable, the bedding is all new and high quality, I slept very well. The hotel is in the heart of the city centre, a stone's throw to the nearest pubs and cafes, and only a few minutes to the river walk. Didn't get a chance to try the in-house bars - next time hopefully. This hotel is ideal for those who want to stay in a family-run business with a personal, friendly touch, and can cope with traditional architecture. It is not for those who seek 24/7 hotel-chain blandness.

The smaller rooms are extremely small initially we had a small room, I may have been unlucky with this room. There were tiles missing from the bathroom floor, the bed moved 4-6 inches when I sat on it and the bedside cabinet fell apart when I opened it. When I opened the curtain which was not attached to the runner properly I was faced with a bare wall. However, when I went to staff, I was moved to a new bigger room immediately with no issues. That new larger room was exceptionally good comfortable and the view was good. This said the staff did tell me that they took over the hotel 1 year ago so this is a progressive project, and I would recommend this hotel to people visiting Derby. For the issues this hotel has the staff carry it along beautifully and the service is exceptional.

The Hotel was central to Derby and everything was easily accessible and easy to reach. The town centre is literally at the top of the road. Despite this there was not much noise from the town. We had an issue with our initial accommodation, the staff sorted this out quickly and efficiently and without any problems or issues. The bar is very pleasant with a good selection of drinks. Also the bar staff held a Cocktail evening where each guest eas given a free cocktail, which was very nice and well made. The staff are always willing to help and assist and the staff seem to have a view that nothing to to much trouble.

I’d have liked a small fridge in the room to store water (there may be fridges in other rooms but I chose the lowest price room and there was not one).

Excellent value for money. Fantastic old building with plenty of original architectural features. Very central to the city with a reasonably priced carpark near by. Comfortable, clean and lovely staff (special nod to Rajib who served us a faultless full English breakfast in the morning).

Run down, could do with some spring cleaning (the curtains were dirty), the AC didn’t work and the room was boiling hot, we were given a fan by one of the staff members while we went out but when we came back we noticed the room door was left unlocked with all our things in it, no parking (you have to pay extra £10-15 a day at a nearby pay and display)

Room was a little small and there was no hairdryer, which is surely a standard item in hotels these days. VERY limited parking (we got lucky as we arrived early).
