Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

site was close to the golf event at St. Andrews. Nice walk to and from. Go to see the town as we walked. It was off the main road so it was quiet. It was nice, small place to stays which was great for us. Everything was provided we needed.

PolandThe apartment was cold when we entered, and there s no hairdryer. No hairdryer with less than 10°C outside. Not enough towels, am I supposed to use the towel for intimate parts and my face? And if I take a shower and wash my hair? One big towel x person is not enough. The bedroom was extremely small.

Comfortable flat in an excellent location, very well equipped kitchen. A real pleasure to spend time in the apartment but also close to the sights, shops and restaurants.

United KingdomThe set-up of the living room isn't great, it needs some comfort, a proper sofa to chill on after a long day. The bathroom is also quite dated, shower curtains are a thing of the past personally but if required should be of a higher standard.
The location was amazing, the size of the apartment was great, kitchen had all amenities needed, easy access, warm and convenient. Information prior to arrival and key access was easy. views of the church outside the windows was lovely.

United StatesIt’s obviously not a big deal, but we were surrounded by homes and apartments with lovely flowers, and our courtyard was just ugly concrete and fencing. It would have been lovely to have pots of plants and garden seating in the courtyard where we could relax after a long day of golf and site-seeing! But this did not really affect our satisfaction. We were a bit put off by stripping our beds and cleaning, but, again, not that big a deal. We would definitely stay here again.
