Needs blackout curtains as once the sun rises in the morning, the room we had(back of hotel)was very, very bright. Fine, if you like getting up at 5am lol.

Good location and clean, modern rooms.

Stayed previous and enjoyed so much therefore this time booked 2 nights stay. On the Saturday night (20th) we were kept awake by room 3 next door returning to property shortly after midnight, the couple then continued to argue very loudly with foul language throughout until the very early hours therefore our first night was spoilt really by them. This left us very tired Sunday to manage to enjoy our day fully. This was mentioned to the two reception staff Sunday morning at breakfast however this spoilt our stay fully. Cooked breakfast would be nice however continental breakfast and choice still good.

Location is excellent for the beach as it’s right on the doorstep, parking is the same also with parking right outside and always a space available. Rooms a nice size with enough amenities for your stay.

The sea view room was under renovation when we were there, which was a bit of a pity. The shower did not have enough hot water and the shower switch was difficult to twist when had foam on hands. The hairdryer has very little airflow and cuts out after a little while.

A little far from town centre, but nice place. Friendly staff came every morning, offering self-catering breakfast.

Breakfast was simple but again more than satisfactory with cereal, juice, crumpets, toast, bagels and fruit available.

Carmel House is currently being renovated with a lot of scaffolding at the front. It is a small hotel and my double room was compact but more than adequate. It was spotlessly clean and appeared to have had a new bathroom fitted. The bed was comfortable but the room needs some smartening up. It was more than adequate for my needs. I thought it was very good value for what was charged

We had problems with the security code on the main entrance door to enable us to enter, however it could have been down to us for pressing buttons too hard once sorted no problems. The shower in our room took a while to drain away nearly flooding over onto the floor

The breakfast was superb, lots of choice no limitations, the staff very friendly and bed very comfy.

I'd like to return when the scaffold is gone to see the building in it's best light.

This charming listed property has been recently renovated to a high standard and the room we stayed in (3) was very comfortable and well-appointed. There is scaffold to the front of the building which does obscure the view a little but doesn't affect the comfort and enjoyment of the hotel. The included breakfast is a self-service continental and there is a good range of fresh items to meet most requirements. There is a side road by the property which usually will allow free parking very close by. It looks popular for camper vans so it may be harder to park when the season gets busy.

Well the picture shows no scaffolding when we booked it and after we paid it was very crafty to say they had it up and apparently it’s been up sine 2022 so when we turned we could not believe the state of the front of the building because it looked terrible compared to to the rest of the places along the sea front looked really nice and freshly painted

The bed was very comfortable and enjoyed the sea view and Jess was very friendly and helpful doing literally everything
