Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAlthough our twin room was a bit on the small side for us, the beds were very comfortable and the en suite bathroom was lovely.
Excellent breakfast choices. Nice lounge for guests upstairs with snacks and a great book swap library. Lots of magazines and information of the area. The building itself is gorgeous. No traffic noise and easy access to all major coastal routes.

United KingdomThe only fault was the mattress which could probably do with being changed as it was a bit uncomfortable . Everything else was perfect.
Beautiful, clean B+B . Great location for travel into Edinburgh. The owners are very welcoming and nothing is too much bother for them. Lovely facilities. Good selection for breakfast which are cooked to order. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and we will be back.

We loved EVERYTHING. Yvonne and Stephen were the perfect hosts, always working at the "beyond the call of duty" level. On the logistics front they were super-efficient and on the rapport front they were absolutely charming. The house is also lovely. The combination is an atmosphere of serenity, good vibrations and ongoing sense of humour... which are totally captivating and make you want to come back in the near future.

CanadaEverything was great! She gave us suggestions for a place for afternoon snack and then a great place for supper.
We had to leave earlier than when breakfast is normally served and she made us breakfast. Got up early and had it all ready. Above and beyond for sure. And gave us great directions to the airport.

United KingdomNothing to not like about our stay.
Breakfast was outstanding, nicely presented , very fresh and delicious. Location was perfect. 5 to 10 minute walk from the station. Our room was ready early which was a bonus and we could leave our bags after we had checked out so that we could go off to enjoy the area before our train. Yvonne and Steve were very helpful, friendly and we would definitely stay here again.

United KingdomWe were greeted by Yvonne with a warm welcome. The building is a former church/chapel that has been very well renovated. Both the bedroom and ensuite were a good size and the bed very comfy. There was a good selection for breakfast and everything was delicious. Kinghorn is a good base for exploring Fife and going into Edinburgh. Thank you Yvonne and Steve for a lovely stay.

RomaniaThe owners were very friendly and gave us useful advice for travelling / visiting in and around Kinghorn. The B&B is nicely decorated and its's convesion from an old church into a guesthouse is quite interesting. It is located in a charming costal village, close to the train and bus stations. The room was exceptional (soft carpet, confortable bed, very good pillows, big bathroom with a wide range of toiletry products) and we enjoyed the silence and the fresh air. There is also a sitting room available for guest to relax indoor and an open air table/chairs next to the parking. We enjoyed our breakfast that was made fresh in the morning. As we checked out early in the morning, we received sandwiches for the road.

United KingdomI couldn't stay longer! :)
Location was perfect for work in Kirkaldy the next morning. Yvonne was absolutely fabulous - so welcoming when I arrived without being overbearing. Everything was prepped and ready for my stay. Check in was quick and efficient. The room was utterly spotless and the bed was sooo comfortable. I had to be up and off early for work but Yvonne made sure coffee and breakfast was ready for me. Would recommend this to anyone and will defo stay again if I am back in the area. As a woman travelling for work on my own I had no concerns at all. Thanks Yvonne!

United KingdomThe mattress was a little softer than we have at home but still provided support It was baby seagull rearing season but the owner has recognised this as an issue and provides quality earplugs for an undisturbed night's sleep
Excellent value for money for a location that's only 40 minutes from Edinburgh. Breakfast was good with a selection of cereals, fruit & yoghurt, Tea & fresh Coffee, as well as the traditional full English or elements of. The bedrooms were modern and well fitted out as is the bathroom with a modern spacious shower. There's only 4 rooms in use at the property at any given time so it lends towards a more friendly atmosphere, less crowded and pretty quiet. There's a seperate lounge for guests too. There's ample parking out front for 4 cars but it's a tricky exit on a blind corner - traffic should only being doing 20mph but often isnt.

United KingdomThe location is right on a corner, so it’s really scary pulling in and out of the carpark as you can’t see if anything is coming. May be a good idea to fit one of them domed round mirrors opposite so you can see traffic coming instead of feeling like you are taking a gamble.
Gorgeous building inside and out, and the rooms are nature-themed and beautifully decorated. Spotlessly clean and lots of lovely little touches. The breakfast is local, fresh produce cooked to order, also lots to of fruits, cereals, nuts and seeds and yogurt to choose from. The owners are so friendly and knowledgeable about the area.

Our hosts Stephen & Yvonne were very friendly & welcoming. Stephen was very kind in taking our luggage up to our room as I had mobility issues. They also had a wealth of knowledge about the local area, not only places to visit & things to do, but also places to eat. Very good breakfast choices, very good & comfortable bedroom, with good facilities & excellent en-suite. Thoroughly recommend this accommodation.

United StatesWhile the property is very interesting (an old church building) and within convenient driving distance from the airport and St. Andrews, where we spent the day, Kinghorn itself seemed a little dreary. If you're hoping to have cute shops and cafes within walking distance, it's not that kind of place. But with a car it was just fine and we'd go again because of the comfort and hospitality Yvonne provides.
Yvonne was a delightful and helpful host. She welcomed us warmly and with big smiles, offered to let me nap on the lounge couch if needed since we arrived early and were tired from overseas travel. The decor was fresh and bright, pleasantly traditional, very comfortable. Rooms are small, but a large lounge with couches, books, television was right across the hall if desired. I slept soundly for 12 hours. Yvonne provided earplugs just in case, toiletries with explanations about local sourcing, coffee/tea/biscuits. She also let us know that we'd have a special offering at breakfast the next morning if interested (and we were!)--smoked haddock in cream sauce and melted English cheddar over a thin rolled omelet. The food was delicious, fruit/yogurt, etc. Yvonne seemed to love her work and hosting guests. We thoroughly enjoyed staying with her!
