Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaWe loved everything about this stay. The one problem we had was with parking. We didn't read all of the things we need to do before our visit, so we didn't know we needed to let them know we would need parking. So we had to find parking outside of the cathedral grounds which required some walking. Although the walk was beautiful, when you are tired and ready to get settled after walking around so much, you are just ready to be settled.
The staff and amenities were wonderful. The place was beautiful and relaxing. We were in the lodge which was like an apartment. It had a kitchen, living room, 2 bedrooms, and a large bathroom. Everything was clean and nicely decorated. We had purchased tickets to tour the cathedral, and the receptionist let us know that we could get a refund since our stay included a free tour of the cathedral. The cathedral readily gave us a refund.

United KingdomFood/breakfast this time the most disappointing point was breakfast. We loved porridge last time(freshly made per order with lots of fresh fruit and nutty flavors-best oat porridge ever i had in life). Even after visit to lodge, we also started to make oat porridge every morning. but this time when we ordered it for my toddler, it was very old/salty and not pleasant to eat even for adult.
This is our second visit since July 2021. We had a great memory of lodge - that time we only booked 1night and then we extended one more night as we really loved lodge- area, food(!!), facilities, bed comforts, staffs and room. With such a good memory we wanted to visit again (we talked a lot to go back again) with a child(last time i was pregnant). Still same quality of facilities (we didn’t have a good luck to get nicer room. Room didn’t have window sitting, and not comfortable chair/bed frame- can feel the frame)

United KingdomHard to find, the hotel is in the grounds of the cathedral to which the gates are locked at a certain time, instructions were not clear how to get into the grounds and then it’s not easy to find the hotel entrance once you are in.
Lovely staff, clean comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast, centrally located.

AustraliaParking is a little tricky, make sure you book well in advance. The bed is a small double, but ours was comfortable. It’s just when you have a 6ft4 husband it’s a little small.
This is not only a wonderful location in terms of being on the cathedral grounds, it is also right in the middle of Canterbury, & everything is within a few minutes walk. Great breakfast, lovely helpful staff & we had a beautiful view from our room. The filtered water in the back foyer on the ground floor was great too. We attended a couple of different services at the cathedral & loved it.

United KingdomThe room was in the annex which was in a separate building from the main building, however - I had a lovely view of the cathedral so it doesn't bother me. To get to the room, you had to go outside across a small street, which isn't too brilliant when it rains! Also, the building had 3 flights of stairs and no lift, which isn't good if you suffer from knee injuries or are rehabilitating from post-op knee surgery. However, this was made clear on the booking and there was plenty of time to change room if needed.
The breakfast was amazing, I had eggs Benedict and the breakfast was served in a nice bright room. There was a small lounge/bar next to the breakfast room, so it was the perfect place to relax or, do a little bit of work on a laptop.
