Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MaltaNothing, we enjoyed our stay.
The hotel is located in a quiet area near Kensington Gardens, with an underground stop only a 2-minute walk away. The staff were all very helpful. The room although on the smaller side (you can not expect big rooms in Central London even at the bigger chain hotels), was very clean and exceeded our expectations in terms of decor, amenities, and facilities. The bathroom was quite big.

CanadaIt was small and the soundproofing isn't the best. You could hear people walking around above you. Also during breakfast time, the breakfast smell comes into the room.
Location was pretty good, it's walking distance to the Queesnway Underground station. Place was clean.

CroatiaIt was a bit noisy in the morning (street cleaners, and some construction works) so if you're a light sleeper bring earplugs just in case. We did not experience noise from adjacent rooms but the floors were a bit squeeky so we could hear people above us walking in their room.
We stayed in double room which was a bit small (a common thing in London), however we didn't need a bigger room because a) we only slept in the room as we were out from the morning to late evening, and b) the room had ALL we needed; a big bed (quite comfortable too), nightstands with good reading light and usb ports, closet with enough hangers and a safe, a full length mirror, hairdryer, kettle, big window (that can be easily opened for some fresh air), a working tv, enough sockets around the room, good mirror lighting, good water presssure in the shower.. The room was very clean and it was maintained daily (we stayed for 4 days); they would clean the bathroom, make the bed, give clean towels, toilet paper.. Every floor has an ironing board and iron available to use which is amazing. Elevator was working all the time for us. Staff is very nice and at your service, we mostly talked to Smile (I hope I got the name right) and he was very helpful. Location is really good; there are two metro stations in walking distance (Queensway, Bayswater - 5-10 min) and Piccadilly station a bit further. Hyde Park and Kensington gardens are literally across the street, so you can have a very nice walk to Kensington Palace, Royal Albert's Hall, Natural History Museum.. We actually walked to many city attractions but I know it's not an option for everyone. Area around the hotel is very nice and felt very safe. Hotel street is a residential one, but just two streets away (the one with metros) is a lively street with many restaurants, cafes and grocery stores. We did not choose to have breakfast in hotel as we like to eat out and try different options, so can't comment on hotel breakfast. However, breakfast options around the hotel are good; there is a very nice cafe just outside Queensway and a fantastic bakery with good coffee near Bayswater.

United KingdomThe lift was a bit slow, but we were on the first floor so we used the stairs. Not a big issue by any means. Highlights my impatience more than anything!
Great location for our purposes (a concert at the Royal Albert Hall). All areas were exceptionally clean and nicely decorated. Great natural light and good lighting options in the room too. Bed was really comfortable, perfectly firm. All staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive.

United StatesTiny room - felt like staying on the attic. Not expected for that price. Amenities could be better. Breakfast is a bit too late for tourists - 7:30 and 8 on weekends. All the day trips start around 7 am. So, we had to skip twice.

United KingdomThere was nothing that I could mention that I didn't like; the room was perhaps a little small but there is so much to do we only used it to sleep and shower in.
The Hotel was easy to find and close to a Tube station. The street it was on was quiet and the staff were friendly, helpful and polite. Although the room was a little small it was very clean and had decent facilities including a large TV. There were some very local shops, bars and restaurants which saved us having to travel on the occasion we did not feel like it. Some of the major tourist attractions were within walking distance.
