Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere was no bin in the room and I had feminine hygiene products to dispose off. The shower drain was clogged up so I was basically standing in a pool of my bath water.
I loved the extra touches like the mini toiletries, mini bottle of water with biscuits and earplugs

United KingdomBed was uncomfortable. Basic room...no TV, no clothes hangers, no bin in the room, no hairdryer but understand as it's student accommodation not a hotel. I was unable to open the window which as being a woman of a certain age was needed! Main issue for me was the noise from other people in my block and the banging of doors on numerous occasions. And you heard everything...a couples antics on the Saturday night were interesting to hear!
Good value for being within walking distance to the centre of Leeds. Toiletries in the bathroom. Secure building, fob needed to get into various parts of the building. Staff were lovely, very friendly and accommodating. Selection of tea and coffee available in the shared kitchen plus recycle bins there too.

United KingdomStudent accommodation - loud at night and honestly it just looks shoddy. The facilities are old and there’s a lot of rust in the bathroom, it is not well maintained and the accommodation corridors are unclean (even though the room was cleaned well). Not worth 75 pounds a night. Online I saw that students pay 125 pounds for a whole week. Would not recommend.
Very good staff - very friendly and kind

KenyaThe facilities could be better. The shared kitchen did not have even a toothpick! The door had a gap under it hence you could hear everything going on outside
Good for solo young travellers. Safe because it’s shared with lots of students.

United KingdomThere were people banging doors, lots of shouting and arguing in the building at night. It woke me up and couldn’t get back to sleep. The shower drain was blocked and flooded the floor.
The staff were helpful and nice. The restaurant nearby was good.”

United KingdomNo bin in room. Pillows super thin. Mattress uncomfortable. Room 0% sound proof. Lock on door felt flimsy. The window opened weirdly. Room was bland.
Wasn't far from town centre. Close to a late closing corner shop. The entrance was easy to work.

AustraliaThere were so many failings during my stay. Fittings, building and equipment are a bit "cheap and nasty" and photos don't reflect the poor, worn and somewhat grubby state of facilities. Kitchen is shared - which wasn't clear to me from description. Room window gave onto central outdoor socialising area which was noisy every night. My room wasn't ready at check in time and I had to really complain for under-supported receptionist to overcome denials of managers and get authority to offer me another room. Piles of rubbish-stuffed black plastic bags obstructed the reception area when I arrived. Coathangers weren't provided until receptionist took the initiatve to offer some thin wire ones. Questions through booking.com messaging went unanswered. Once a sfaff member unlocked and barged into my room unannounced, apologising and citing "room checks....". I'd advise checking the proper professionally run apartment hotel across the road, or a private room in a nice hostel for your self-catering accommodation.
Charming Yorkshire hospitality and professionalism of receptionist Gerry and the cleaning staff who serviced the room sadly couldn't compensate for all the inadequacies and poor management of this accomodation.

IrelandThere's not much negatives here, you get what you pay for; it's not the Ritz. 30 minutes walk will get you to Leeds city centre.
Perfectly adequate student apartment with a shared kitchen (shared between 3). Access using fob key to all doors. Secure. No frills but did the job. Also, its just around the corner from Forista for breakfast. Also close by is the brilliant Kirkstall Brewery taproom!

United KingdomBooked on Saturday for Monday arrival. Irrespective of the short notice: no bin in room; no coathangers in room; sink leaked; mop in kitchen broken; a couple of long black hairs in bed; kitchen strip-light not working; folk talking, laughing & playing ball in courtyard 'till small hours of morning. Student accommodation can be hit and miss; as travelers we should be grateful for a roof over our head for such a modest fee. My gut feeling is the place is not properly geared up to accept booking from members of the public. If this was booked on the Saturday, are there staff in over the weekend (as opposed to nightshift staff) who can process the booking? All in all, a bit of a shambles, and I certainly wouldn't return.
Nothing, really.
