Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOnly 1 thing was I couldn't use the washing liquid to wash clothes as allergic, so had to find a launderette. perhaps just a say that's the brand only to be used! No complaints everything was perfect.
Loved how it made you feel at home comfortable and so relaxed the location was peaceful and beautiful. Everything you need in one place just perfect!

United KingdomThis was a minor niggle but if we opened windows, particularly at night, quite a few insects came visiting!
We had a wonderful week at Brynarth Cottages. We spent a lot of time in the conservatory, attached to the cottage, overlooking the garden and views of the countryside. We enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels from the garden & conservatory. The peace and quietness of the place had a very relaxing effect. There was no light pollution so we were treated to a stunning clear sky full of stars. The cottage itself was very comfortable with everything we needed (including a hammock which we enjoyed using). On arrival we found a homemade loaf of bread, butter, a jar of Welsh marmalade, a jug of milk and a pack of Welsh cakes had been left for us. A lovely treat after a long drive. There were also a few teabags, small tins of coffee and sugar and some oil provided. The location of the cottage meant it felt like we were in the middle of nowhere yet within an average drive of an hour we accessed the Welsh mountains (the mountain roads provided stunning scenery, they were however, very narrow and high in places!), the Dyfi Nature Reserve, estuary and beach (the estuary drive is very scenic and the walk along the beach from Aberdyfi to the Irish Sea was stunning), The Devil's Bridge and Waterfalls (the waterfalls were amazing after the the previous days rain we'd had, the full walk is a challenge but worth it even with the nerve racking descent of "Jacobs Ladder"!) and the seaside attractions of Aberystwyth were fun.

United KingdomThe cottage is dark, so electric lights were necessary all day (in early September). We self catered all week, and the kitchen is small.
The hosts were very responsive and helpful. The cottage was well provided with equipment, I particularly appreciated the hot water bottle! Everything was clean, and well laid out. We liked the games room.

United KingdomIt was a bit too remote for us; the nearest town is a 25-minute drive, and we had no phone reception when at the cottage or 4G until about 10 minutes away. The games room was ok; it could do with updating or renewing the pool table and balls. The shower attachment in the upstairs bath did not work (no pressure). However, there is a shower downstairs that works well.
Very clean on arrival with fresh flowers on tables. A few food basics were supplied with a nice welcome note. The grounds are large, and you can walk around freely. Loved the fire pit and private garden. Good WiFi. Having a washing machine and tumble dryer in the games room was very handy. Gareth was very nice, we felt welcomed. A very good supply of everything you could need for your stay and eco-friendly too.

United KingdomCrunched the car a few times on a bumpy driveway and we couldn't get the heating to work after a cold, rainy walk, but the positives far outweighed any tiny negatives.
Beautiful property, well maintained. Lovely owners and a nice games room with pool table etc.

United KingdomNothing at all!
The property was not only exceptionally clean and comfortable but was in the most tranquil, beautiful setting, with a garden overlooking hills and a wonderful sunset. The hosts who live on site were really on the ball, warm and communicative but also left me to my own devices and it felt like I was in the middle of nowhere, with no-one around, which was just what I was after. I arrived late in the evening, to a fresh loaf of bread, welsh cakes and marmalade and milk in the fridge. The cottage had everything I needed and is set in beautifully maintained ground in a stunning part of the country.

GermanyThe road to the Cottage is very small and there are a lot of curves, something we as foreigners had to get used to. Might be more difficult with large car.
Hud-y-Machlud is a very lovely Little Cottage. We loved to watch the squirrels play in the garden, and smell the roses at the door. The kitchen had all you could need for preparing a meal. The whole cottage is lovingly decorated with small details. The bread, tea, marmelade, butter, Welsh cakes and fresh flowers, made us feel very welcome . We would absolutely recommend Brynarth Country Cottages!

Wonderful place. If you want to take a break from the busy world, go there. Silence peace. Wonderful nature visible from every window. A garden created with love for nature. Lots of different birds and flowers that make every moment more enjoyable. Spring water straight from the tap. Clean interiors. Comfortable beds with fresh bedding. Everything you need in the kitchen. Lots of attractions nearby. The hosts were wonderful. They live next door and create an atmosphere that provides guests with a comfortable stay. Each apartment has own garden and access to relaxation on the property land. Benches and seats in various places allow you to admire nature. Fresh air, very quiet and dark nights. Warm in the apartments. Heating very well regulated. The temperature is lower at night and higher in the morning, which makes waking up a pleasure. Woolen blankets, good quality towels, tasteful country-style accessories. Lots of pillows and extra blankets. Great internet.

United KingdomThere is no mobile reception in the cottage. Normally that wouldn't be a problem, but our car broke down and we had to rely on a taxi service to get around. The flat does have a good wifi signal, but our phones couldn't handle wifi calling. It was a minor setback under the circumstances.
An all round wonderful place to stay with easy access to surrounding towns and attractions if you have a vehicle. The hosts are helpful and accommodating, the facilities were excellent and the cottage was clean and tidy.

The location of this holiday let is beautiful and very peaceful yet only 10miles from the centre of Aberystwyth. The cottage had everything we and the dogs needed for the week and was comfortable, warm, clean and well presented. The hosts live on site and are on hand if needed but respectful of guests’ privacy.

United KingdomAbsolutely recommend staying here. This was my second visit first was under different owners and was a B&B. This time was as cottage hire. Both times I have loved it. Peaceful, beautiful and relaxing. Be aware that it is a bit of a drive from anywhere along very narrow country roads, but we’ll worth the journey. The new owners are as friendly and helpful as the old ones. They are a lovely family and will do whatever they can to help you. The standard of the cottages is to a very high spec and spotless. You have all you need to make your stay easy. A well equipped kitchen extra bedding pillows and towels. We received a lovely welcome plate of homemade bread, fresh eggs from the chickens on the garden butter and milk. A really lovely touch Plan to stay next year Thank you for the most wonderful stay
