Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Beautiful welcome at unique family home. Ideal location to visit Petworth, rural but not isolated. Comfortable bed with spotless white linen in double room filled with light. Lots of choice of drinks and light breakfast food. Clara thoughtfully provided gluten-free cereal for me. Big bathroom with super shower.

United KingdomBeautiful location but difficult to get taxi to come out there. The cold continental like breakfast provided on the room was well supplied but a freshly cooked breakfast would enhance the stay.
Lovely, accommodating hosts, very comfortable bed and beautifully decorated room. Very clean throughout. 10 min walk from the village with so and pub.

United KingdomIt worked fine for us as we were two family couples, but it is a shared non en suite bathroom and the breakfast is a help yourself eat in your bedroom continental style. So 'bed and breakfast' is a bit confusing. No communal room, but there were tv's in bedrooms which worked well.
Excellent bedrooms, one twin, one double. Nice shared bathroom with shower/bath and toilet. Continental breakfast with cereal, brioche rolls, milk, fruit juice , yoghurt and an excellent fruit bowl. Comprehensive tea and coffee tray, with drinking chocolate and herbal teas.

United KingdomWas a fantastic place in a lovely, quiet location. In the heart of the south downs with easy access to all the other parts too. Clara and her husband were lovely. So friendly and helpful. The breakfast being already set up in the room was a lovely idea. The views from the room were beautiful too. A real secret gem and will definitely be going back.

United KingdomNext time we will stay longer!
Property is lovely, proximity of public footpath gives you an immediate access to a beautiful forest and that is if a large garden of your hosts is not enough. There is plenty of places around and within short distance to eat of have a pint in. As for the property, it is a lovely and welcoming house with really great family to welcome you in. Rooms are great and very comfortable.

United KingdomIt took a little time to find the property, as it wasn't obvious in the direction that I came from. I would suggest signs for both directions of approach along the road or a precise location map with the booking information. Alternatively, use of what3words app.
Self service breakfast was ideal for me, as I don't stick to specific times. It also had a good range of healthy food: fresh fruit, yoghurt & muesli. Hosts also heated my soup in the evening when I chose to stay in.

United KingdomWe did not find something negative during our stay in Brook Barn. We completely enjoyed the relaxing time and discovered the local area as much as possible!
The Brook Barn is located in west Sussex not far away from our area as we find it very close for a two-day, relaxing and peaceful break! We loved first of all the people Clara and Simon who gave a very warm welcome (as well as their dog) and incredibly friendly stay in this B&B! We chose the double loft room which has a superb view of the garden green horse's yard! Every single view inside and outside has unbelievable details and authenticity of genuine items of art or plants! Lovely books keep my attention, I wish I could read some of those..!! Authentic and delicious breakfast with fresh local tasty products!!! The early morning sound of birds resonates still in my year!! So lovely accommodation made with love and too much personal work! Congratulation!!! I would recommend this B&B 100% !

United KingdomThe twin room suffers from the inevitable problems of a bedroom in a roof space. (The double room is more spacious and has a view). The shared bathroom was not the problem we anticipated.
Beautiful setting, very attractive house and friendly hosts. Breakfast was perfect for us and served in a stunning dining room with lovely views of the garden. Lots of good walking, South Downs etc and many places of interest in the surrounding area. Three pubs serving food close by.

United KingdomWe weren't clear it was a shared bathroom (the other couple said the same), but the website is now clear. Bedrooms both have sloped rooves so maybe a problem if you are tall.
Very quiet, secluded location. House was lived in by family but we were on separate end. Room had great views, including deer, heron, and horses. Shared bathroom (between 2 rooms) had bath and good shower with shampoo, shower gel etc. Hosts were very friendly but non intrusive. Breakfast was lovely - cereals, breads, fresh fruit, yogurts, and a good selection of teas and coffee. Village shop and pub within 5 mins walk.
