Getting around the hotel was a little bit confusing, the menu in the hotel restaurant wasn't really that nice, they need more varied pasta dishes maybe although the draft cider / drink selection was excellent

Good size of room for the money spent, staff were very friendly , bus stop heading to city centre straight outside on the main road and a garage to buy any essentials less than 2 minute walk!

we were a party of 4 and our friends room was located in the annexe, i had asked for rooms close to each other.

i liked the room being located in the main building and not in the annexe. hotel location was very good & clean. dinner menu was good and food well cooked. breakfast food was well cooked and was a buffet style so able to help yourself to what you liked. nice atmosphere in the hotel.

The carpets on the stairs are old and dirty. They need to be replaced. The doorframes on the foyer and ground floor of the hotel have paint chip marks which makes the hotel look very aged and poor. Our room did not have a fridge anymore and there wasn't a safe in the room to store your valuables.

The rooms were comfortable and clean. The hotel location was convenient to where we wanted to be and had a great view over the valley and the hill behind the hotel.

Personally the cleanliness could have been better as there were parts of the room that were dusty and had cobwebs including in the nightstand drawer and the wardrobe where you were meant to put your clothes was very dusty. The rest are more like suggestions for improvement: have a menu in the room to show what you can get in the restaurant as it may help getting people to have lunch or dinner there and have a mini fridge in the room to keep a few things as sometimes it is needed especially if you travel with kids.

It gets a lot of points for having a good size parking and having a bus stop right there which connects to the city centre. The breakfast was good and enough. The room we had was very quiet and relaxing which is great for getting some rest.

A particular staff member wouldn't give you two words if one was sufficient to mislead you . He was gruff and unwelcoming and would not help us with our bags up and down the Escher-esque stairways. Other guests helped us. No lift, very cramped quarters. Place is overdue for a redo - which we were told is planned. Things are worn and shabby. We changed rooms on our return stay to ground floor but still had to go up and down stairs to get there. Fire exits plans were confusing. A difficult venue for a person with handicaps.

Food was good but breakfast not included, dining staff was gracious, helpful and welcoming. Pretty setting, beautiful public park down the stairs and across the road, quiet. They held our bigger luggage when we went on a coach tour of several days. Easy bus access to city center. Kudos to Robert of the dining staff for friendly hospitality and hard work. Good venue if you are driving.

Very welcoming reception staff and loved the resident cat which was super friendly! Very easy to get to Centre town from hotel by bus. The bus stop is right next to the hotel which was super convenient. The custard creams near the kettle in the room were nice with a cup of tea :) also very close by to the hotel is a nice big park you can go for a walk in.

We were on the 3rd floor and there was no lift and my partner had an ankle injury so it was really difficult to take all our bags to the room, v long walk and no help available. There should be a lift, at least! The communal area carpets are a bit tired and the room a little small, especially little room on one side of the bed.

    Rooms are quite dated.
