Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United Kingdomcheck in was extremely stressful because I was given the wrong door code and couldn't get in and was worried the whole time I was there about not being able to get back in. no TV in the room, thought it was a bit strange. not the most sound proof building considering it's a shared complex

United KingdomI found that the mattress was lumpy, and there were small black hairs on the sheets. Additionally, the towels had a bad odor. You could hear every conversation from the next room and every sound from the bathroom.There is scope for improvement.
The room was of a good size and beautifully decorated. The location was convenient, and there was no disturbance from outside. The owner very helpful.

AustraliaHad a lovely stay as a solo female traveller, very comfortable in my room, good size, and the bathroom in particular had lovely facilities. It would also be a great stay in one of the double beds for a couple etc. included a mini fridge and a few kitchenette facilities and the hosts were accommodating to my needs. Location is close to bus stops and not far from the city centre, however not an area I felt safe enough to wander out at night from. Otherwise no complaints!

A good-sized room and nicely decorated. Nice new bathroom with a great shower. The location could not be better: buses to the city centre every few minutes from a stop about 2 mins walk away, railway station a 6-min walk. Plenty of free parking. Helpfulness from the owners was outstanding, with almost immediate response to messages and questions.

United KingdomLack of storage (no drawers, cupboards, wardrobes etc.) and shared bathroom (outside my room) as it was used a lot by people from upper floors and lingering smells remained. Sadly, this is not within the owner’s control obviously! The room very dark which made it hard to do makeup in the mirror! Also, it was quite cold at times (due to extreme winds during our period of staying and the pre-set Hive system).
The decor, proximity to town, ease of check in. The price was excellent (Black Friday deal), parking was easy and fellow guests were reasonably quiet. Room (and bathroom) was clean and minimal. Bed was very comfortable.

United KingdomI'm sure I saw a hairdryer listed, so didn't take mine... Taxi didn't turn up so had to walk 30 mins to event at Aldelphi Hotel- not the property's fault, just a bit far out for what I wanted, really. There are buses and Edgehill train station isn't far, but better if you're not alone.
Nice room, a bit dark (wallpaper was green- so could do with more lighting). Tea and coffee facilities. Comfortable bed, decent size. Quiet area and accessible to walk into town.

United KingdomWould have been nice to have a mirror in the room, but not an issue at all. Also no space for putting clothes - again not an issue for me at all as I was only there for two days. The one downside of having the bathroom next door is that it was a bit noisy when other people used it, but not excessively so. Overall nothing negative that impacted the stay at all.
Really wonderful value for money. Although it looks like it's far out from the city centre, Edge Hill train station is a five minute walk away and trains are really regular, taking less than 5 minutes to Lime Street. There are also buses that go into the centre quickly in the absence of trains. As for the room, it was perfectly pleasant, and really lovely to have a kettle and some tea bags in there. The shared bathroom was next to my room which was great in terms of being able to pop in - never had to queue or wait at all.
