Nothing. My wife and myself really enjoyed our stay at the Blue Swallow.

Breakfast was excellent, location central to town centre, bus station, train station. Room very comfortable & clean, nice selection of goodies in room (cake, tea, coffee etc). Hosts Karen & Allison very friendly, off street parking. Room at front of house but no street noise, very quiet. Would highly recommend.

We did stay there because we were house hunting in the area so we just needed a room to stay. Instead of it we felt like we've got home to be in while we are there! Breakfast was great, beds comfy, room clean . Very nice treats left there too (had to buy extras as it was so good!). Oh and they had a cutest doggy and they did let us to pet her!

Great comms from the owners as I was arriving late, met at the door with my name, given parking disc for on street parking. Recommended local bar with excellent real ales, shower excellent and bed comfy, breakfast exceptional. Homemade tablet and chocolate tiffin in room and given flapjack on leaving, all superb.

The warmest of welcomes, lovely touches everywhere; homemade fudge biscuits, jams marmalades etc. my room was very comfortable, clean and cosy. The guest house was within easy reach of all Penrith had to offer.

Nothing not to like here at the blue swallow.

We were greeted by our hosts Alison and Karen whom both were exceptional hosts and they made us feel very welcome, Our room was very spacious and very comfortable with a walk in shower. The breakfast was excellent with a great choice. Anyone visiting penrith should stay here and it's only a short walk into the town and perfect if you are visiting the lake district.

Karen and Ali provide way more than your average B&B accommodation and hospitality. From the moment I arrived, I felt like their beautiful home was also my home. That welcome continued until I left two days later. The breakfast was exceptional and the choices on offer were amazing, right down to their home-made jam, marmalade and sweet treats on the welcome tray in the room and Karen's daily energy slice when heading out the door. Karen and Ali were very helpful when it came to transport options to nearby towns and places to visit. Penrith is a great location to base yourself when visiting the Lake District, not as busy (or expensive) as Keswick and Windermere, but both (and others) are only a bus, train, or ferry ride away (or a combination of all three) and easily done in a day. Thanks again Karen and Ali. If I could give you a Diamond star, I would!

The hosts really make an effort to make travellers feel welcomed and at home. Everything spotless clean, great amenities, lovely breakfast with amazing choice. Location perfect: very close to bus stop, and one minute on foot to the center. Would love to come again. Penrith itself is of course a delight (plenty of maps and other materials at the b&b, very handy!)
