We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United KingdomCar park had a rather small entrance as the hotel is over 200 years old! My car got dented by another guest ,which was annoying , but Not the hotel's fault.
Continental breakfast was very good with plenty of wholesome and healthy food - instead of cooked English! Room was lovely and quiet - a little on small side with no wardrobe- but comfy bed and light and airy with good en-suite bathroom. The hotel had real quirkiness and character, as it is over 200 years old. Also nice outside area to sit and smoke/drink in summer.

United KingdomEverything was great but would say the facilities at breakfast could do with updating and the space set out better the orange juice dispenser was so slow a jug would of been better and the scrambled egg machine did make us laugh why not just make in kitchen but these are little things we had a lovely stay

United KingdomAs an ex hotelier of an 1800s property I know the maintenance, we were located in room 3, few scuff marks on wall which needed a touch up but not a big deal, there were a lot of shrinkage cracks to the ceiling and peeling especially in the bathroom, also the shower plinth was loose and sealant spotted black. There were hairs in shower and around toilet generally not cleaned very well on arrival. Could do with narrower bedside units, I know they all match but that would enable bed to be moved to the right with better access to the clothes hanging area which could be awkward for the elderly.
Great value compared to other hotels in the area, friendly owner and great location and good selection at breakfast, although limited parking we didn't have to park elsewhere.
