We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

United KingdomThere was a distinct lack of basic level customer service etiquette that you would expect from any hospitality venue. Breakfast staff didn't explain the protocol, no one came to ask if we needed more coffee or check if our food was OK. Reception staff didn't ask us whether we enjoyed our stay or thank us for staying with the hotel. It was poor manners and didn't make us feel welcomed or valued.

United KingdomLift was broken so had to walk up 3 flights of stairs. It’s under a night club so be prepared to hear some slight noise, I’m a light sleeper hubby didn’t hear a thing .
Fantastic locations, very friendly and helpful staff. Water dispenser on the landing, Bar stays open late . Comfy bed and spacious rooms. Tea and coffee facilities . Bath and shower.

United KingdomOur room for some reason was very warm and we didn’t have the heating on throughout our entire stay. We opened the window from the minute we arrived and required the fan to be on constantly for the time we were in the room and at night. We are not sure if it was just our room or something but it wasn’t the greatest situation in regards. But other than that, we enjoyed our stay.
This is our third stay in this hotel and we love it for its value for money and location! Room was very clean, staff friendly and prime location as mentioned.

United States of AmericaThe noise from the nightclub below the hotel. It wasn’t from the outside . Not sure how a night club could be below a hotel and for a 4 star hotel you would expect it quieter. I understand you can’t help the noise outside but not sure how the nightclub gets away with playing the music that loud when there’s hotel rooms above it. It was rather annoying but wasn’t going to let it spoil our stay . Would stay again but would request a different room/level.

United KingdomThe bathroom was a bit of a let down. It was a nice size, the toiletries and towels were nice but there was quite a bit of black mould in the grout, the seal on the shower screen was stained and one of the blinds was broken.
Staff were lovely and friendly. Location was great. Room was nice, with a big comfy bed.

United KingdomThe hotel is a grand building but is showing its age with creaky floorboards in the hallway, stairs and in the room where we stayed. The lift being out of order didn't help the impression we formed; however, the lift being out of order did not spoil our enjoyment of visiting this hotel or Chester. We think the decor could do with a refresh, especially in the bathroom, but it was perfectly adequate for a couple of nights. We were surprised to find they have a nightclub, The Red Door, under the hotel that does create noise at night. There is a note on the website to say because the hotel sits on a busy street there could be noise, but there is no mention of the nightclub. We weren't personally disturbed, because we were on the second floor and facing inwards and not out to the street, but we did hear a customer talking about them having a poor nights sleep because of the noise with the staff as we were checking out.
This hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Chester. The staff are outstanding and certainly made us feel welcome. They were always polite and kindly offered advice for where to eat and they recommended places for us to visit. They were attentive when we needed them to be. The room was a good size and the king sized bed was comfortable. The room was very well heated too - perhaps a little too well and we needed to open the window upon arrival.
