Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. United KingdomCheck-in instructions were incorrect - after 30 mins, we almost gave up and went and stayed somewhere else! Host wasn't very responsive. No welcome information and everything had been unplugged from the TV. We weren't able to use it for 24hrs. Only just enough crockery.
The accommodation was reasonably good. It was spacious. The lift worked.

Cambodia10 am check out is crazy other apartments offer a 11 or 12 check out .. it’s worth paying more not to have the cleaning lady walk in at exactly 10 am , even when I messaged the host the night before that I want to extend .. I checked out and found much nicer apartment for the next 2 nights .. really check the details this person doesn’t answer any phone calls either .. the other apartment owner answered everything perfectly.. build choose this block definitely.. but this particular apartment maybe not
The price was fabulous, I’ve stayed at others in the same block , this unit was an 8, other more costly units score a 10 because of the Sofa and tv being bigger and better.. but the layouts are all the same

United KingdomThere was no iron provided and it took a day for them to get in touch. Excuse was "someone may have stolen it" shocking to think you do not look over the apartment to make sure everything is there before you take on a new booking.

United KingdomBooked through booking.com came with my 4 year old from nottingham i arrived at the property could not enter i stood outside in the rain 2 hours trying to get hold of someone while there where people outside smoking weed in the end i had to book another apartment elsewhere. i have still not received a refund. AVOID THIS PROPERTY!!!

United KingdomRubbish on the steps but this isn’t down to the apartment was down to lazy people. The lift was also a bit hit and miss but can’t fault the host for this as we where warned prior to are visit it’s not always in service.
We extended are stay short notice. The host was great at communicating. For personal reasons we wanted to extend are stay but missed out unfortunately.

United KingdomThe property wasn’t very clean when we first arrived but we did sort this ourselves as we extended are stay. Other people leaving rubbish on the stairways rather than taking it to the bin area.
The host communication was great and very helpful. The property has everything we needed for a stay and things are local for what we needed
