Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

IrelandWe mentioned the phone not working from the night we checked in and someone only came to take a look about 2 hours before check-out time. When using the hairdryer, there were pops and some flames and then smoke. We called down to reception (on my own mobile) and housekeeping came with a new hairdryer and advised that maintenance would come and take a look but no one ever arrived. As well as this, housekeeping walked in on us twice, without knocking, and on one of those occasions we were both naked. It was a brilliant stay and I wouldn’t let those things fault other parts of the hotel as Keith at reception was absolutely lovely and really took care of us well!
The room we were allocated was stunning, and the grounds and property were absolutely amazing. The interior blew us away and the in-room dining was lovely also

United KingdomTheir car park appeared to be used by Darlington FC fans on the Friday evening with hoards of people walking up the drive. We had a late afternoon high tea and didn’t consider it very good value for money quantity wise although it was delicious

The Blackwell Grange is a great hotel. The staff make this hotel. They are professional, hard working and very respectful. The hotel is being slowly remodeled. Our room was clean but very dated. This did not hinder our stay.

United KingdomVery dissatisfied that there weren’t enough table and chairs for all the wedding guests. How bad is that. Some guests had to sit outside and became disassociated from the wedding. I thought it was disgraceful. When I went to the ladies toilet, there was no paper in the first cubicle so I informed the reception staff. Even though there were no queues, I knew they didn’t intend doing anything about it. A couple of hours later when I visited, there was no paper in the first and second cubicles.
Wedding venue fabulous. Setting really good. Hotel really beautiful. Public rooms excellent. Bar staff good.

United KingdomFood was not great. Mussels were overcooked, lots of broken shells. Squid was soggy. Service was excellent but quality of cooking not up to standard compared to the rest of the hotel.
Nice spacious room. Big comfortable bed. Quiet (well away from the weddings). Good service. Good little swimming pool. Feeling of being set back from the town with nice grounds. Nice bar.
