Very attractive old pub tastefully restored. Good selection of ales(Timothy Taylor's, Ghost Ship and Neck Oil).....shame we got there after it shut. Room warm clean comfy and light. Great 'trad' breakfast. Very convenient for stop off en route north. Cafetiere coffee would have been a bonus.

Disappointed that no freshly brewed coffee instead of instant for breakfast. No heating in bathroom. No light over mirror in bathroom.

We were in room 7 only downside was a constant humming noise on all the tine I assume was maybe an extractor fan other side of wall or above not entirely sure but seemed to be coming from the wardrobe I looked in but nothing to see lol but this seemed to be on all plus the fan in the bathroom was not working so steam cannot escape.

The room was quite cold, though I was warm in my bed. It was very cold outside.

This was a very comfortable stay, everything was really clean, there was good quality sheets and towels. The staff were lovely and the food was good. It felt safe and welcoming for a lady travelling on her own.

TV was mounted too high on the wall making viewing a little difficult. No welcome note with WiFi or instructions to turn heating up.

Room was very large and modern. Clean with all amenities. Breakfast was great.

Sadly although the room was lovely it was directly above the bar/social area and there was a party going on and the noise and vibration carried up to the room itself! Happily it DID stop at around 1130 pm. I wasn't aware that there would be a party when I booked but was advised when I asked what was the latest time I could return to the pub/hotel and was told then that there was a party happening that would conclude around 1115. (It was a bit later than that but as said earlier, was around 1130 when the music/vibration stopped!) So all good in the end.

The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. Facilities in the room were good and the en suite bathroom was fine (nice hot shower - plenty of towels.) Breakfast the following morning was lovely - well cooked and hot and self service section ideal. Staff friendly and efficient.

Could have been a bit cleaner - rubbish left in a drawer, some mould around shower that could be sorted very quickly, some fittings loose.

Spacious room well maintained and a high standard of decoration. Restaurant was excellent with a high quality of food well presented. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Looking forward to staying over again on our return journey.

Everything was excellent. The only reason I did not give 10/10 is that there was only instant coffee available for breakfast. We were told that the coffee machine was broken. If this was my hotel I would have ensured a back up was made available immediately. Otherwise perfect, thank you!

Bathroom spacious but needed somewhere to put toiletry bags and hooks or a rail to hang towels.

Comfortable and spacious room, plenty of shelf and hanging space. Breakfast was freshly cooked with perfect poached eggs! Staff very friendly and conscientious. good parking.

A couple of tweets needed, the shower room door was damaged. The mastic in the shower needed cleaning or replacing. A lot of time and money has been spent on the hotel and with these few bits done it would make a great stay.
