Bed wasn't perfect. A bit slopy on the sides. Kept sliding sideways.

    Location perfect. Pleasant staff.

We do not have satnav, finding the hotel was a problem. Google map was not easy to work out . A call to the hotel itself was not much help either , eventually found the hotel but its signage was partly obscured by low hanging branches of a tree . We also had to duck under the branch to and from the hotel. We do realise it is a conservation area but the tree really does need cutting back a little. When booking the room it would have been helpful to know that the room was on the top floor and up several flights of stairs. Table service for breakfast was nice but we would have liked to choose from a menu, instead we had to ask what was on offer and its contents.

welcoming staff, car parking facility, clean and comfortable, beautiful dining room, lovely old building with character. The large tear off map pages of Bristol such a help and a great idea. Lovely staff only too happy to book our taxi for us. Happy and helpful housekeeping person . We really liked having 2 types of electric fans in our room. Our stay was peaceful and pleasant and beautifully situated for Clifton area which we really enjoyed.

Dangerous staircase at top. My partner would have fallen backwards had I not been there behind her . Breakfast was let down by poor service. She was grumpy and quite evidently very keen to end her shift. I had to knock on the kitchen door where they were both manically washing up, in order to get a second cup of coffee

Comfortable and homely, in a grand setting

As listing building, no lift, with very steep stairs to the second floor. Although the hotel accepts dogs, it is not ideal for dogs as access to the room was difficult with a small pet. Would not recommend it if you are bringing pets. Parking is small and not guaranteed, and you are asked to leave your car all day rather than driving in and out.

Location in Clifton Village is good. The hotel is a listing building, wi the plenty on character and well serviced.

Atmosphere of faded glory. A magnificent building which obviously takes a lot to keep it updated. Curtains weren't black out and corridors a little noisy for those who were in bed early.

Great location. Comfy beds. Helpful staff.

We didn’t stay in the main building we were next door in their sister building which was a little disappointing as we were not informed of this at time of booking, so if it had of been raining it would not have been pleasant having to walk next door for breakfast which was a little disappointing regarding the choices: eg: no cereals, limited toast, no Honey, Very very limited choices. But what we did have was ok, average.

The Hotel has a lovely location very convenient for getting into the City Centre on the local buses & a lovely walk through the green to Clifton Village. Very good location.

There was no toilet brush in the bathroom. A lift would be useful, especially when travelling with a buggy.

Old building full of character and clean, comfortable family room. Beautiful location in the heart of Clifton village and opposite the bus station to the centre. You are near the supermarket, and plenty of cafes and restaurants. Friendly staff and decent breakfast!

The room was really small! Would have preferred not to have to choose what we wanted for breakfast before we'd arrived at the hotel.

The location was fantastic, Clifton Village was seconds away with great restaurants and shops and the suspension bridge 5 mins away. We walked into Bristol in 15 mins (steep hill back up but doable or you can get the bus.) Lovely breakfast at the hotel.

Friendly staff at check-in, super quick and friendly. The location is good, with the shops of Clifton a 2 min walk away, and the city centre 20 mins. Bus stop straight outside the hotel is very convenient. The room was big and bright, was facing onto the car park at the back, but noise was minimal throughout my stay.

There's nothing to dislike, other than perhaps the £9 per 24hrs parking charge.
