Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe room was very tiny. They don't use fitted sheets.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was good - we had the continental and the full english. Both were good. The location for us was excellent. It is very close to Paddington Station and the Elizabeth line. Many excellent restaurants and coffee shops within a short walk. They made the bed everyday and provided clean towels everyday.

United KingdomGeneral decor a bit tired, but not a huge problem. The ensuite was fitted into the corner of the room with a step up into it, and was made of the material used for showers in caravans / cruise ships, which I found a bit odd, but I suppose nothing actually wrong with it.
Good location close to Paddington station. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.

United KingdomWe were in a basement room, could hear the underground trains more of a rumble, but windows did rattle. Only stayed one night so didn't ask to move. Apparently all the hotels on the Square have the same problem.
Room was very clean, hot shower with shower gels, room had coffee facilities. Bed comfortable .

United KingdomThe room is very simple. The toilet was very small and the toilet seat didn't fit properly on the bowl which was uncomfortable. Mattresses were ok, however the pillows were terrible, you would be better using a towel as a pillow. This place is a BIG NO if you have mobility issues, there are A LOT of stairs specially the one going to the breakfast room is quite narrow. Be mindful of that if you have too many or too heavy bags/suitcases. I have read good reviews about the breakfast so I think this is why I am disappointed the most. Coffee was instant, they could give at least filtered coffee. The toast from the english breakfast was tasteless and very thin, sausages were bad, maybe the quality has declined from previous reviews? Lovely ladies working in the breakfast room though.
staff were very friendly and very helpful. On the last day I checked out and left my bags and suitcases at the hotel with no problem, only got them much later when I needed to get my train. Place was clean and the shower was hot. Location absolutely spot on if you have luggage, just 4 min from Paddington Station. However if you have heavy suitcases, there are the stairs.....

United StatesThe heat was shut off part of the day & part of the night. The room was mostly cold as the small radiator could not keep up even when the heat was on. I slept with a comforter/duvet and an additional blanket. No elevators in this building with narrow flights of stairs. The hot water was not always available. Either the boiler had turned off or it cooled off coming thru the pipes to the 3rd floor.
The check-in staff were wonderful when I needed to extend my reservation several days in a row due to my partner being hospitalized. They always managed to find me a room. They even took my bag up 3 flights of stairs to my room. The location was excellent & only a short walk to StMary’s Hospital & Paddington Train Station.there were many small markets & restaurant. Thr breakfast & breakfast staff were great.

United StatesThis hotel is an experience that you’ll complain about for a couple of months then the rest of your life you’ll laugh about the experience. If you are a high maintenance person you won’t be happy. But if you are the average tourist on a budget you learn to compromise.
