Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaLocation, size, amenities
This is a compact, but comfortable house in a safe neighbourhood in Liverpool. We stayed 6 nights and were comfortable all through. The hosts Julian and Kayla were amazing. As soon as the booking was confirmed we received a warm message from them introducing themselves and guiding us through the check in process. We locked ourselves out of the house one evening and they were most kind and accommodated us by sharing a duplicate key for us to let ourselves in. The bedrooms (2 of them) are well proportioned and work well for couples. The 3rd bedroom is a tad small with only a single cot, best used by a child. The house has a fully equipped kitchen with all the necessary utensils and a washing machine. It’s well stocked with cleaning products, extra trash bags, toilet paper and all other necessities. Parking was easily available on the street and was free. Never had an issue finding a spot to park the car. Several supermarkets and convenience stores around - less than a mile away from the house. Plenty of decent restaurants around as well. A drive to Liverpool 1 from the house takes just 10 mins - approx £10 by cab. Would definitely stay again if we visit Liverpool. Thank you Julian and Kayla.

IndiaIt was all good.
It’s a compact house, but super convenient. So wonderfully maintained with all the needed facilities. The hosts are very cordial and super efficient, communicate really promptly with the guests. For our 6 day stay in Liverpool it was a perfect option.

United KingdomVery clean and comfortable house with on street parking in what felt like a very "safe" area. 5 minutes walk to bus stops and 20 minutes to St.Michaels rail station. We were grateful for the provision of fresh milk, tea, coffee and condiments. We will hope to stay again soon.

United Arab EmiratesUnfortunately the beds were small (length and width), and the pillows were not comfortable. I would recommend changing these. The window in the bedrooms need dark curtains as the light comes straight in during the early morning. The birds and planes outside are also loud in the mornings. We were not advised of the scaffolding outside the front door when we came to the house. The house is about 10 minutes walk from the bus stop to the city of Liverpool, and then 20 minutes in the bus, so it is not close the city. It is only £2 one way in the bus. A ceiling fan or pedestal fan is needed in the bedrooms in summer. A vanity unit is recommended in the bathroom for a family to store their toiletries.
The noise was well appointed, clean, comfortable and well maintained. The host was very prompt with replies to queries and very attentive. The home was as pictured on Booking.com. It was well suited to a family. The third bedroom was very small though, only room for a single bed. The other bedrooms were well decorated. The kitchen was well equipped and the washing machine/dryer was new. There was a small outdoor area to hang clothes or to sit outside. The lounge room and dining room were very comfortable.

United KingdomNot really a dislike, just quite a way out of town, but excellent bus links. Not far from Sefton park.

Lovely period house, Street felt safe and within ten minutes walk to Lark Lane which provides plenty of places to eat and drink. But more to the point, the house was great, clean and warm, couldn't ask for much more really, will be booking it again soon for my next "working" visit to Liverpool.

United KingdomIt was great to be able to phone the host when the pin code I was given was not the correct one so I initially couldn't open the lock box to get the keys. The door was stiff to open and close and we had to use the main lock rather than the yale key. We couldn't work out how to get wifi (we could have called the host but were out most of the time so this was only a minor inconvenience). One of those information books on the house/area might have been helpful (we didn't need so much as we are locals ourselves but others might have valued advice on taxis etc). It would be great to have some better wine glasses.
Really liked the house and the bedrooms. Convenient, quiet location with street parking. The house was clean and well equipped. I was staying with 2 old school friends. We all grew up in the area so know Liverpool well. The host was helpful. Gorgeous house plants.

United KingdomDifficult to find fault but if the owner wanted to add some oven gloves in the kitchen and leave some information out about wi fi passwords (we found it in the end) then that would be great.
The house is in a good location for visiting either Liverpool City or the more local area of Aigburth, with Sefton Park and the restaurants and bars in Lark Lane. We stayed for four days, visiting relatives close by. I choose this house particularly because I liked the style of decoration and furnishings. I loved the house plants - you don't often see these in holiday lets. The kitchen was well-equipped and everything worked which was a bonus!

After being let down last minute by our booking we chose this house as an alternative and I’m so glad I did! The hosts are super lovely and accommodating & the property is decorated lovely throughout. There’s good-sized bedrooms provided with desk space and hanging facilities for your clothes. Communal areas are clean and spacious, great for coming together with your group. There’s plenty of shops and eateries nearby to pick up any essentials forgotten & taxis cost £10 max to the centre of Liverpool. Ample parking space in a chilled neighbourhood, if I was to visit Liverpool again I would look to see if this place was available first!
