Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI can fall asleep anywhere so it wasn’t an issue for us but- apartment is directly on a major road into Stratford and although not super busy, the car and truck noise is very evident. Shower attachment on bath taps is a no no these days. Showers cost very little in the scheme of things. So why no proper shower over the bath I do not know. For a luxury and clean and tidy apartment that one thing spoils it.
Very clean. Kitchen well stocked with crockery and cutlery. There was tea and coffee and sugar. Huge TV. Bedrooms were clean and fresh.

United KingdomParking around there is a bit of a nightmare ...for a 2 day stay. I found a single DISABLED parking bay close by ...and used that for the 2 days. But if I was not DISABLED ...i COULD HAVE BEEN PAYING A LOT FOR A 2 DAY STAY IN A CAR PARK.
Good location...just a short walk over to Shakespeare's house and all the eateries and pubs.

United KingdomThe traffic noise. Nothing you can do about it but it’s on a busy road. Double glazing made a big difference so thank you for the fans.
Location was excellent as you overlook the garden of Shakespeare’s birthplace. We liked it being a ground floor apartment with easy access (bedrooms are upstairs).

United KingdomBathroom could have been better - shower head was silted up, as was the overhead fans - which was a bit worrying. Only one (small) toilet roll. Shower went very cold mid flow then heated up again - possibly an immersion kicking in? But quite powerful. The road outside and people were noisy especially at night - triple glazing would have been ideal although I realise it is expensive for sash windows. Parking was interesting - free overnight but a car park just down from the house was useful. And the house number on the door would have been useful. But really the location was so good (just behind Shakespeares house) we could forgive anything! And would probably come back.
Location was amazing. Good layout. Nice kitchen and lounge. Bedrooms were lovely. Nice to have coffee and tea and sugar left but it would have been nice just to have a couple of sachets of milk for a cup of tea before we braved Tescos nearby in the rain! Wifi available and TV good choice of programmes.

United KingdomNo parking - all roads nearby are permit only. Slight musky smell in the property and some small things made it feel a bit tired. Water temperature in the shower had a mind of its own and was either progressively getting hotter until unbearable or freezing cold! More pillows needed too.
Location was excellent. Beds were comfortable. Everything you’d need was provided (kitchen utensils/crockery etc plus hairdryer and fan)

United KingdomNo parking, but wasn’t too much of a problem for us as found a driveway to book online which was about a 5-10 minute walk away.
Great find. Has everything you need and great location. Very straight forward to book, check in and check out all, done online. Would definitely stay again.

United KingdomThe communication with the property was very confusing. They had their own portal (Oracle) which they used but also sent messages via SMS or via booking.com and they often replied in a different format to the original message, it was difficult to keep track. In addition to this, there was confusion with the security deposit as they attempted to take the payment a 2nd time, this took a while to resolve as there was an issue with their computing system.
Property was lovely and clean and was well kept. Plenty of linen and towels were provided and the self-check in process was very straightforward.

AustraliaStairs steep and fridge switched off when we arrived so smelt. Parking pass was not in place it was supposed to be. We rang contact provided but had no response. We ended up making contact via booking.com email and issue resolved promptly next day. Never heard back from contact provided in house info book. Fines are heavy so don’t park without it. We had to move our car to a car park some way away until the sticker was found which was extremely inconvenient - and costly. House needs a good airing.
Great location a block away from main centre and easy walk to river, shops, restaurants. Parking is tricky but a sticker is provided ….we had an issue with this on our arrival day but was resolved a day later. Comfortable two bedder, well equipped kitchen, big TV, good internet. A note for people less mobile that the stairs are very steep and bath difficult to get into with no hold rails. Key safe outside which was fine but no contact with anyone on arrival which would have been better given issue we had with car permit and contact number provided did not ever answer.

United KingdomCould have done with a larger pot for cooking (we cook because my son has food allergies) - we cooked pasta but had to do it in 2 lots as pan was too small. You couldn't arrive until after 4pm and vacate before 10am. Most other places operate 3pm and 11am.
Location of the property was great, it is right in the centre of Stratford, behind Shakespeare's birthplace.. It is small, clean & comfortable with some quirky finishes....we loved the lightbulbs! Has a couple of comfy sofas, TV and the all important internet (great for teenagers!) The beds (in our opinion) were too firm (but that comes down to personal preference). Great to have a parking permit to be able to park along the road. Lovely selection of board games and books (which came in useful when we had bad weather one afternoon.) The hosts left a little selection of tea / coffee and biscuits.

United KingdomNo parking although in original details said there would be a parking permit, spoke to Oracle(I think)told me to take screenshot of paragraph, had to move my car first as I was in no parking area & would be fined. 20mins later after parking paragraph had disappeared from information, spoke to same person, foreign voice shouting in background basically calling me a liar! Told to empty bins, strip beds etc etc. dish washer tablets but no dishwasher. Tea/coffee unusable, didn’t matter took our own. Oven top greasy, no dish cloth, charged £55 for cleaning, it was cleaner when we left!! The original ad showed different pictures of interior to what was actually there, wardrobe? cupboard on landing few hangers floor & shelf dirty cloths, painting materials etc. Bathroom…intermittent hot water. From actual booking, the pictures changed as did the address & description of property, do you want me to go on? Very pleased only booked for 2days,
Not much, bed was comfortable, carpets new as was light fitting, walking distance into town
