Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe fridge was noisy but we just turned it off as we didn't require to use it. I believe it is going to be replaced soon.
We had a Kestrel apartment with a partial view of the loch. We were greeted by Jason who was very friendly and informative. The apartment was spotless and extremely comfortable. We loved the bifold doors onto the balcony. The hot tub was private, as they all are, which we had worried about after reading other reviews. The new owners have changed the hot tub maintenance company and it was very clean with fantastic jets. A lovely touch was being given Tunnock's Tea Cakes with information sheet. I think the new owners are really looking after the site. We will definitely be back.

United KingdomWe had noisy neighbours but this is absolutely no fault whatsoever of the accommodation itself. Only bit of feedback I’d offer is some complimentary tea/coffee in the room would have been super for one-night-stay people, but this is in no way a complaint about the lack of
It was clean, cosy and beautifully picturesque. The bed was super comfy, and the shower was roasting hot and powerful - top marks!

A lovely stay, Jason and his team were very welcoming and the accommodation was perfect. The Kestrel apartment was perfect for my partner and I to escape to for a few nights and the hot tub was the perfect way to end the end the days after some short hikes up and down Loch Lomond.

United KingdomWe were told at check in the furniture outside needed replaced and there was an unsightly view of a gas tank. This was the only downside. But again, wouldn't stop us from returning.
The size of the lodge was great and the hottub was fantastic. Beds very comfortable. Handy for the oak tree inn for food. Although kitchen had full cooking facilities. Staff nice and friendly and honest. Didnt take the security deposit as we were told at check in there was new management and the place was a little run down. To be honest I was thinking the worst. But just a few bits in needs of some TLC/decor. We hardly noticed it. Did not make our stay bad

United KingdomOur lodge was located directly at the entrance of the site/car park, this meant we had a lot of people walking past our door which didn’t have a blind to pull down for privacy. There is also no access to the hottub without using the front door & there is no enclosed space around the lodge to let the dogs walk around safely. This meant they had to be locked inside the lodge while we used the hottub
Lovely little get away, staff are so welcoming & there is everything you need within the lodge. Really comfortable beds & the hot tub was a great temperature. The site is well kept and very clean.

United KingdomWell, I couldn't find it at first. I had very heavy luggage, so it would have been great to have a sign at the back, (where my lodge was) leading to the lodges from the car park. It would have saved me a lot of effort. As I hadn't realised it was next to bus stop and opposite the visitor centre. I know things were being done, BUT.... as a pricey accommodation, it felt a bit like a construction site from the front. I did sort of feel a little disappointed when I was shown to the last lodge right at the back. The only one with flat roof I think. I was also unhappy that there was no cover over my hot tub and there was no screen for privacy, which I had seen in the other lodges. I was overlooked and that bothered me greatly. However, I did do as advised by Jason, and tried to screen by using the outside furniture. But I think, for the money that was a little unfair. A screen would be more important to me than a cover/roof. But even then, when one is paying that much, and as it usually rains, a cover would be necessary to enjoy the jacuzzi more fully. One thing that really bothered me was the location of the laundry and staff area. I couldn't really enjoy the patio because of their comings and goings, chit chatting and smoking. The latter, I'm really sensitive to, and could smell it even inside the lodge. I didn't feel at all private as this was every time they were working, they were right in front of me. At the very least, there should be a physical screen as it made me feel very uncomfortable, like I was in a shop window on display. I couldn't sit there. It was also unpleasant to see things next to the lodge like the bin or gas bottles etc. Surely it would be better to disguise them? They do that even in camp sites. These things made the grounds seem less like luxury accommodation. I had also mentioned when booking, that on booking.com my lodge clearly stated garden and Lake view.
I loved the decor and the kitchenette. It has everything you'd need. The bedroom was also lovely, well appointed. The lounge was in a good position and I could just glimpse the loch, which I was happy about. The location was great; especially for the local pub and walks. It was opposite the visitor centre and right next to the bus stop. Not far from ferry for Inchcailloch island. I loved hearing all the birds singing and chirping. I loved having a hot tub! Jason the manager was extremely friendly and eager to please. He also carried my bag which was very welcome.

We initially booked for one night, but once there decided to book a 2nd night. Unfortunately the lodge we were in was not available for the 2nd night, however, we were given the option of another lodge. Both lodges were fantastic and had everything you needed in them and also both very comfortable. Staff (Jason & also the cleaner) were 10/10, great customer service.

United KingdomWe only stayed for one night so it was fine but the cabin doesn't have a lot of storage (e.g. no cutlery drawer, not much cupboard space) and it could be tricky if you were staying for a few days or longer.
Lovely cosy cabin and the hot tub was great.
