Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

AustraliaWe would have enjoyed being in the main building rather than riverside, but that would have been because of the room rate we chose. The river view was beautiful from our balcony and we were blessed with fine weather, so we were able to walk to and from dinner and breakfast.
The setting was wonderful! We were ready for some comfort and indulgence after travelling for nearly 3 weeks. We enjoyed the history, the decor, the staff etc.

United KingdomOur visit was late in the holiday season, and although the room was clean and comfortable, it was a little tired with dusty woodwork and grubby windows. These are minor issues and would not affect our decision to rebook at a later date.
3rd stay at Ballathie House Hotel. Perfect location for our trip and visiting family close by. Accommodation is comfortable and clean. Breakfast buffet very good - cooked options were fresh and superb. Excellent service from all staff and pleasant receptionists. The Dog friendly option for having breakfast was good too.

The room was absolutely beautiful! Not modern decor but I prefer old luxurious style. Bathroom had lots of extras…. Shampoo, body wash etc.. The staff are so friendly which is the main thing… we have stayed in some excellent hotels but staff not so friendly so we will not be returning. The staff in this hotel are lovely, make you feel so comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. We booked for two nights on our way home from a holiday in Helmsdale but unfortunately we only stayed one night as our dog injured her paw.. the hotel actually offered us a refund which we declined.. we are going to book this hotel again for next year…

The location of this lovely country hotel is stunning. The staff as always are lovely & the food is delicious.

United KingdomNot actually disliked - we really enjoyed our stay, but a few detail improvements could have made an excellent experience exceptional. The bathroom could be improved. It had a corner overhead shower, with a not quite totally sealing door. A second hand-held shower head would have been useful. We have found these in other hotels and they do make the whole ablution experience better, Also the room would have benefited from more electrical sockets near to desk/dressing table and by bedsides - with USB charging outlets. But these are no more than very minor quibbles: we most definitely recommend this hotel.
The whole experience was extremely good. The hotel and the room were very comfortable with a lovely ambience. Effective and controllable electric heaters kept the room warm and cosy. The dinner was exceptional and suited us on this occasion, though cheaper options might have been useful for more utilitarian overnight stops. The breakfast was very good. The location is outstanding, set in gorgeous countryside, with a garden sloping down to the river. We look forward to return visits.

United KingdomCouldn’t get a table in the restaurant for my fourth night, even as a resident guest. Fully booked with outside diners. Had to eat elsewhere. Not great. But food at Little’s In Blairgowrie was sublime, so quite happy.
Perfect site, as long As you’re in the main building. Sportsman’s Lodge is a bit shabby. Restaurant food is excellent, but v nouvelle cuisine and small portions. Service is 5star. Excellent breakfast.

Staying at Ballathie House was just like staying in a castle. Our room was comfortable and spacious. The grounds were beautifully manicured and lovely to walk around. Staff were professional and courteous. We had a sumptuous 5-course dinner in their 2 rosette restaurant. It was so delicious. Breakfast was great as well. What a wonderful place to stay.
