Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

VietnamThis was further from Victoria station than we thought. The rainfall shower head could use some help. Lots of cobwebs and the in room fridge could use a good cleaning.
Property was nice. Spacious room. No AC but slept comfortably with the windows open. Located in a quiet residential area. Owner shared code via email; easy access.

United KingdomToilet seat didn't fit and was really loose. There was no hairdryer. There was dust and hairs in the bathroom drawer, and there was a stain in the bowl of the toilet. The rest of the room was nice and clean but the carpets in the common area were really grubby. Booked a king deluxe but it was definitely a double bed.
Great location for The Olympia and great communication from the property. They supplied a fan when I requested it and replaced really quickly when the first didn't work. Lovely big tv. Nice and quiet.

United StatesIt is more of a self catering situation. We never met the owner or any staff. It goes up 3 floors from the ground with no elevator. If you have a problem with lots of narrow stairs, make sure you let the staff know when you reserve the room.
It was neat, clean and stylish from the outside to the inside. There were common areas, plenty of supplies, except for towels but they provide a washer and dryer. Great location! Convenient to public transportation, buses and tube. Restaurants nearby. Lots of light and windows.

United KingdomThe heating thermostat was set to 26 degrees - way too hot and when we turned it down staff came in and turned it back up. At first we had only cold water in the shower until we realised the boiler wasn't turned on - an easy fix.
The location and appt were great, there was enough room for 3 of us, plenty of kitchen equipment and dining sets, quiet property, very responsive staff when we couldn't get through the door - sorted within 15mins.

United KingdomParking. There is none. We do not know London and had to walk quite far to the train station and then to find a place to park. Access codes to the premises and our room where not sent to us and there were no staff members to be seen during our stay there We had to call and ask how to get in only to discover no one had sent us any access codes as we stood outside the premises waiting to get in. The other guests were loud snd noisy on their return and we could hear the main door shutting with a thud during the early hours of the morning. In the shared kitchen the other guests took up all the room in the fridge. There was no welcome pack or any suggestions on where to park, what attrations or mode of transport where available.
It was clean and tidy.
