This is just a point of note and not a major criticism - The wood panelling throughout the hotel was very dark and so made the place look gloomy. In its previous life as the Post House hotel, the hotel decor was much brighter. Upstairs bar staff member needs a bit of a refresher on customer service.

Breakfast was very good with plenty of choices and the staff were also very good, pleasant and attentive. The room was spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. Dinner was nice and good amount. Again staff were very good.

For a hotel of this size only to have 1 SMALL lift caused problems for disabled and people with limited mobility. Of the 2 bars in the hotel only 1 was open to residents.

Breakfast was excellent . Location and local area outstanding.

It is very run down. Quite dirty, food is over priced and it’s so dated.

There was plenty to do with a four year old, park outside, soft play and pool.

The hotel ‘lost’ our swimsuits which we left in the bathroom when vacating the room. There was great difficulty communicating with the hotel itself having to go through a central switchboard first. I phoned several times about the lost articles and each time spoke to someone different. We gave up in the end.

A pleasant setting and friendly staff. The room was good value for money though needs some updating.

It’s very tired, has had refurbishment in a number of years with hotel doors still having ‘this is a no smoking room’ signs on door you can tell how long it’s been since it’s been done up. Decor is tired, no investment in interior for some time. If you book triple room the third bed is a camp bed - very uncomfortable and not value for the extra £ - was about £60/70 more expensive than a double and the poor third person doesn’t have a good sleep.

Children’s facilities pool/softplay were great - although would prefer if flume and waves and softplay opened / started earlier for our early riser! Food in aspects restaurant was lovely.

I didn’t like the fact the facilities (pool etc) were not available before check in like I was told in prior email communication. Though a lot of the property was updated, there were some aspects which were quite dated. The external doesn’t look great, there was a staff cleaning room (outside, adjacent to reception) with the glass shattered on the glass door and paint chipped on the door. In the room, there was a hole in the blanket and paint in the bath starting to chip. The dating aspect I’m not as bothered about because other areas are really nice and I suppose you can’t do everything at the one time. The swimming pool, when we did get in, had a load of floaters (mainly fluff) which considering this was 9am and there was only one other family besides my own in the pool, it points to the pool not being cleaned regularly (I.e. at the end of each day).

I loved how clean and comfortable it was. Easy to find off the A9. Staff friendly.

No snacks at bar despite being in the menu. Prosecco and beer delivered to room on arrival - which we did like! - but we weren’t told who had arranged it. Had to ask at reception. Bed really soft.

Centre of village. Huge bathroom and floor looked new so sparkling clean.

Nice hotel - service could have been better.

Service in the restaurant could have been better. Was rushed to order food due to a large group coming in. My second drink didn't turn up despite ordering midway through the main course, waited until I had finished my desert and gave in. I had to ask for it to be removed off the bill! Went to the bar and outside seating area sat there for 45 minutes (table service) and no-one had taken my order. Gave in and went to my room. Disappointing really for a hotel like this.

I have previously stayed at other hotels in the resort and kind of knew what to expect. Clean hotel, clean and comfortable rooms with plenty of space and no fuss. Plenty of on-site parking, various places to eat across the resort or a short walk to the town. Lady on reception who checked me in was very nice, friendly and helpful.

The breakfast was very good, with a good variety of choices. The service however was very bad. A long wait for some cooked items, items requested at the table had to be asked for 2 or 3 times. The tables are small, but no staff attempted to clear away dirty plates. Salt and pepper sets empty. There is a need for staff training and a good manager should be present overseeing the service. This poor service was obvious whether the restaurant was crowded or virtually empty. The hairdryer was broken, the toilet flush faulty and the shower drain clogged so that water overflowed onto the floor. I had to keep turning the shower off to wait for the water to slowly drain, then start showering again.

The room was very spacious and comfortable. The location is good, close to the centre of Aviemore.

Hallways very tired, in need of redecoration. Dining room staff need retraining. Some very officious staff, some helpful. The toaster & bread disappeared after our first day there. It apparently was moved into the kitchen. There was no notice advising guests of this, nor were restaurant staff seating customers advising them of this.... amongst other things.

Lovely clean & refurbished room. Very helpful reception chap who swapped out tv which didn't work & arranged for our 'phone to be checked & repaired the next day.

Great resort I have stayed in many times however the understaffing is a serious issue for visitors
    • Leisure trip
    • Family with young children
    • Standard Family Room
    • Stayed 5 nights

Very understaffed, rooms were not ready on time, room service were struggling to keep up with demand of turnover from coach parties AND service clients like us who were staying for several nights. The Pool and CHildrens facilities are only open 8 -12 and 4-8 so DOES NOT service families travelling with children very well whereas it always used to be great - especially if it was raining outside. This probably reflect the staff shortages. Both restaurants in the evening are overpriced with very limited menus for children. Great for family breakfasts but next time we would eat out for the rest of the day.

Great Breakfast. Excellent rooms. Lovely views, excellent amenities (When actually open!)
