Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBreakfast was a bit confusing as we had to get a form from the staff, fill it out and then pass it back (there wasn't always staff present).
Location great, rooms were clean and stylish, helpful staff, we had everything we needed.

AustraliaIt would've been good to have a bin and a hair dryer in the room. The towels smelled musty, like they hadn't dried properly. The bed was just a smidge too soft for my liking but this was not a big deal.
I loved the decor of the place, and would've happily spent an extra day there just hanging out and admiring the old furniture. Overall a very comfortable stay. It was amazing having a well equipped kitchen to prep meals in, and everything was just spotlessly clean. There were only ten rooms so the hotel was nice and quiet. Only a 5-10 minute walk to the Peace Bridge, museums, shops etc. Would happily stay here again!

LuxembourgRoom was way too warm, no air conditioning and we didn’t want to leave the windows open at night because bugs and moths would come in.
Great location, nice modern room, good facilities - free cereal, free tea, nice living room, kitchen and sitting room to use. Host was very friendly and gave us some food recommendations.

GermanyThis house is great, very nicely decorated, very kind man welcoming us on arrival and showing us everything. There are two houses next to each other, and another one some meters away, where you can get breakfast served if you want to (which was great, highly recommended!). Inside the art house there is sufficient room for cooking, grabbing a coffee, or just relaxing - but we did not use those places as we only had one night and went outside and got breakfast served. Inside the city we can btw highly recommend the bar "Peadar O'Donnell's" at the evenings, very crowded and live music + great beer.

United KingdomAlthough breakfast is now offered, it is very heavily 'meat and eggs focussed', so not an option for those who are plant-based. I am sure we would have had breakfast if there were most non-meat/egg options on the breakfast menu.
Lovely guesthouse with access to a well-equipped kitchen and a large lounge. The guesthouse is beautifully decorated and you feel at home straightaway. It's a short walk to the centre of Derry so no need to drive/take public transport.

New ZealandOur room was quite small, smaller than we expected. The bedroom next to us was larger and more like what described and what we were expecting.
Loved the character of the property. Gorgeous decor. It was a bonus having a communal lounge, kitchen and dining area. Short walk to town.

United KingdomAs we were staying to get ready for a wedding, Room 8 was not big enough for us and it didn't have an en-suite. Had we been staying for any other reason it would have been perfectly suitable.
Personal welcome, even though we were late with a brief explanation of facilities. Beautifully decorated. Nespresso machine in the kitchen!

United KingdomWe absolutely loved Derry and Art House was the perfect place to stay. It’s an easy walk into Derry (6 minutes or so) and felt like a luxury bolt hole in the city. Beautifully decorated and all the little details were right; comfy beds, sumptuous bedding, gorgeous toiletries. The welcome that we had from Colin couldn’t have been warmer and we were grateful for his brilliant tips for what to see and where to eat. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Art House to others and they also have two other lovely properties on the same street. We had a fabulous time.

GreeceThe bed in the ground room where we stayed is too small for us (both of our feet were out of the bed while sleeping) and the room in general is quite small, so it made 2 people moving around it a bit difficult... But I 'd stay for a couple of nights there if I ever visit beautiful Derry again :)
Such a lovely place, clean, in a very nice location. It attracts you to stay in and chill, rather than going out. Colin, who welcomed us and showed us the place, is an absolute delight! They also offer cereals with milk for breakfast. Easy free parking right outside the Art House.
