Hotel was being kept very warm even though it was relatively mild for early November however there were fans in the room to help move the air around and cool the bedroom down.

Fantastic large bathroom with walk in shower and spa bath. Good breakfast available in the morning. Only 15min walk into the centre of Appleby.

Notifications after booking and paying: 1. that access to the spa/wellness suite was not included in the stay, (I would expect to pay for spa treatments, but simple access to gym, pool, etc., is usually included when they are part of a hotel); 2. a 5% service charge added to all prices, including room rate, at checkout, (not a lot, but such additions should be set out clearly at the point of reserving a room).

Breakfast especially the very welcoming and attentive staff. Excellent room for the price I paid. Great location.

It was like being in a comfortable and elegant residence. The staff were authentic (not over trained robots), plenty of indoor space to relax in comfort. The breakfast was excellent.

the evening meal was excellent, we chose the fine dining option. Breakfast was well presented and used quality ingredients. on arrival we were greeted with, "You've been upgraded" which was a most welcome surprise.

We had a 2 bedroom apartment. Only that the rooms and especially the bathroom were stuffy and hot.

Beautiful area and the Manor house was kept in very good condition. Arrived very late and they helped us with friendly staff.

The toilet in my room was the same as I find in a B&B in town! The decorations was of poor quality. Was the bedside water from the tap?

They’ve changed the menu in the bistro and my fussy wife had to make do with something she didn’t really like. Chips were undercooked, few bits of cutlery weren’t clean. Not a very good alcohol choice and quite expensive.

Although we informed the hotel when booking that being a type 1 diabetic, a choice of sugar free desert would be needed, this did not seem to have been passed on to the kitchen. When we booked in at reception, it was confirmed that they knew of this.

The games room offering was limited to a pool table (50p to retrieve balls) and a few family board games available. Additional costs to utilise the spa we didn't use the spa, I would have used if there had been a swimming pool. There was an extremely hot pipe running under the radiator. The bedroom was probably too hot for comfort. Some of the bedroom windows wouldn't stay open so required and required a 'wedge' to support the window in the open position. Some of the glazing appeared to be dirty and the timber required attention.

Bedroom was quite big, bed was comfortable. Bedroom overlooking the peaceful pretty garden with Appleby nearby. Decor looked fresh. The bathroom was very small but had a jacuzzi bath. The toiletries were high on the wall hence not well positioned for use in the bath. We ate in the bistro which was pleasant and staff good. All fresh decor. Breakfast was nice. Reception staff efficient and friendly, a map was provided. facilitating a nice morning walk around the area. (the reception layout was poor).

No lift Our standard double room in the main house was small, cluttered and rather dingy. It was ok for one night but not for longer.
