    Quite a lot of spiders….

Beautifully furnished with everything provided. Very comfortable and well thought out. We enjoyed the parkland and the lovely town.

We were very pleasantly surprised to discover the unexpected washing machine, but there was nowhere to dry our clothes. A lovely member of staff provided a drying rack when we asked. We weren't sure if she'd come to check on us or we just happened to bump into her outside, but she was very helpful indeed. It wasn't at all clear who we should contact or how for non-urgent matters like this, so it would have been nice if that info had been communicated. Not the easiest to find, but fine with the directions we were given. We found it easiest to take the road from Southwell towards Halam, go past the main entrance and take the next entrance before Halam Hill (the entrance is a bit dark so you might miss it, but it's a short stretch of road!). The cottage is almost immediately on your left. We didn't realise this at first and messed around taking other entrances and getting a bit lost - not at all the fault of the directions we were given and the cottages are sign-posted, but it's tricky in the dark. My husband and I had some discussion about whether washing up liquid and dishwasher tabs are luxuries or should be provided! The Co-op down the road is open till 10pm most days, so not really a problem either way.

Beautifully and tastefully decorated cottage in a gorgeous location - you feel like you're somewhere special in Norwood Park! It's so peaceful and lovely to walk in the grounds pretending to be fancy. A few minutes walk into Southwell for the shops and restaurants - a pretty dark walk at night which didn't bother us, but might be a problem for some. Bus stop to Nottingham just outside. Plenty of space for our family of 4 (including baby and toddler) inside and out in the garden. It was a bonus for us to be able to shut the doors to the living and kitchen/ dining rooms to stop the kids getting into trouble with the kitchen or rather steep stairs (in practice our toddler had a great time sliding down carpeted stairs and lived to tell the tale). Comfy beds, heating set to exactly the right temperature, nice hot shower and everything you need in the kitchen. Wonderful place to relax! Excellent value for money.
