Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdom- No fridge in room. But was not informed that there is a shared hotel fridge in reception. - Full English breakfast was awful and overpriced for what it was. Sausages, toast, and hash brown were burned and you only got one small whole mushroom on your plate. The waiter was terrible. Told us that the large full English was £10. But when he asked us do we want tea/coffee (which was self-service by the way) he did not say that the price was an extra £2.50 per hot drink. It was only AFTER we got the bill that we were informed of the tea/coffee price- unacceptable. Considering we had free teas and coffee in our room and could have brought our own hot drinks downstairs. Given this experience, we chose to eat elsewhere on our 2nd morning.
-Hotel is in a great location (right opposite the pier). The room was clean and spacious with a lovely window balcony. -Reception staff (Dan and Saal) so welcoming and willing to help with what you need. - parking permit cheap £8.50 per day.

IrelandThe room was very warm and little things like the toilet paper holder was hanging off the wall which made it feel a bit shabby. Despite the Do Not Disturb on the door, someone entered the room one of the days and a member of staff tried to enter our room on our last day before we checked out and was quite aggressive about it.
The location was unbeatable and most staff were incredibly pleasant and chatty.

United KingdomWhilst it didn't bother us due to our room being on the third floor at the rear, there is potential for a lot of late night noise from the splendid Centre Stage bar below.
Location was great, right on the seafront near the pier, room was fine and shower worked ok, cleanliness was good too.

United KingdomThe shower could really do with some upgrading. The shower head itself was tiny and totally crusted over with limescale (wish I brought some white vinegar with me), I had to try to unblock some of the holes in the shower head so that more water would come out, and it had less pressure than a watering can. Not sure I felt too much cleaner coming out of the shower than when I went in...
The staff member at the front desk was very polite and helpful (not sure of his name, Welsh guy), the room was a fair size for what we paid and the bed was comfy, liked that there were tea and coffee facilities in the room. Location was excellent, right in front of the sea life and pier. Got lucky and managed to find a parking space a few minutes walk away using the £8 permit we bought from reception. Not exactly the Ritz, but perfect for a couple of nights if you're staying in Brighton and just need somewhere to lay your head at night. Ear plugs were provided but we didn't hear much outside noise (maybe because we came in at 1am).

United KingdomThe room was good, comfy and clean. Location could not have been better, absolutely everything on the doorstep. Only issue was the parking, it is side street parking, the permit for £8 does save you a lot of money BUT finding a space is almost impossible.

United KingdomFor the price we paid, we were both OK with the room, it was clean and for our very short stay, it was OK. If we wanted a superior room or another hotel then we could have paid for this option, but for this visit and the limited time we were there, the hotel was great. We did not have breakfast only because we were just not hungry.
The location was very central to where we wanted to be which was one of the main reasons we booked this hotel. The price was reasonable to other hotels close by. We were very impressed with the warm welcome we received by the gentleman at reception [Friday 26th of April]. He was chatty helpful and genuine which was a refreshing change.
