We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

We booked the property more for the jacuzzi bath as it was my partner’s birthday the day after check in only to get ther and it have a sign on saying do not use none of which was mentioned to us before hand. Was a good location for the fair ground and seaside

United KingdomCleannesses still had previous clothes in one of the drawer. Crumbs and dust in kitchen draws. No hooks for coats, which would be beneficial. No shelves in bathroom for toothpaste and brushes Cleaning products to be able to clean down. Lighting and signs for the big step down to front door and one up to the kitchen.
How easy it was to get to places and how big it was. Nice to have the back yard for the dogs. Amazing to have two toilets.

United KingdomThe whole faff with payments of breakage deposits and sending ID, then (eventually, in my case) getting details of where the property was and how to get into it was a huge turn off. I went to the address given on the booking.com site but that is one of many possible sites and it turns out we had to go to a second location 1.6 miles from that property when we finally got details of the apartment. We had waited in the rain for over 20 mins, pleading by messages via booking.com to get access info and sending proof of deposit payment twice before finally getting details. Nobody answering phone. Phone mailbox full. Not good at all. Can't recommend in that basis.

Didn’t actually stay in this apartment got to the apartment on the day and when phoned to get in was told the apartment was no longer available for us and we were moved to a new apartment 15 minutes away which was no where near where we needed to be. The new apartment was appalling aswel.

We didn’t get the original property we booked, they over booked all of their accommodation on this date, then offered us an alternative air bnb for triple the original price, very poor communication, we were stranded on the street in the rain for 2 hours,then gave up. As we were in town for a concert, and had to make our way there.

United KingdomThe apartment is on a very busy main road, with the resulting noise and fumes, and it badly needs a thorough clean. Despite giving them an estimated arrival time of 3:30 in the afternoon, they didn’t provide the detailed address or the lock box code until 4:30 on the day of arrival. After making a confirmed booking and paying the price quoted the proprietors demanded a £100 “security deposit” which now seems to be an additional non-refundable charge. There was no reason to impose a penalty charge. We did not make noise, nor damage anything, nor make a mess, nor steal anything. We left the apartment an hour before the checkout time, which we notified to them at the time. I have made repeated requests by phone, email and the Booking.com site for my deposit to be refunded. I have had just two responses, both asking for the account details to which the money should go. On both occasions I have provided this. but over two weeks later it still hasn’t been refunded. I can get no further response beyond hollow promises that someone from the relevant department will call me back. Would I stay in South Shields again? Absolutely! Would I stay with Alexander Apartments again? Absolutely not! Dreadful!
South Shields is a super place, though an old industrial town it is surrounded by a beautiful coast and countryside, and is a great base to explore the wonderful scenery and numerous historic sites of the North East. It is also very convenient for the nighlife and shopping of the bustling city of Newcastle. And don't miss Colmans Seafood Temple or Minchella's Ice Cream!

United KingdomThe place stated it was 1 double bed and sofa bed which could sleep 4 - the sofa bed was a settee the back pushed down, I’m 5ft 4 and my feet were hanging over the end and I wouldn’t of liked to sleep on there with someone else (thank god the 4th person in our party cancelled). The sofa bed comes with 1 blanket so you’re either forced to sleep on bare leather sofa beneath you or sleep on top of the quilt and go cold. The kitchen is tiny, the place is ran down and scruffy. Told my deposit would be back in 5 working days it took 7 & I had to chase it.

United KingdomIt would be nice to put a bedside table in the large bedroom for a light fixture and also have spare batteries for the TV and fireplace remotes, then we could turn them on.
Master bedroom and bathroom are very spacious, beds are very comfortable. It is very quiet here, despite the roadway. I left a special lunchbox in the kitchen with a full assortment of tea bags, coffee, biscuits and sugar for future guests.

United Kingdom**DANGEROUS CONDITIONS** NO SMOKE DETECTION AT THE PROPERTY AND THE OWNERS/MANAGMENT KNEW THIS and were quite happy to take our money knowing the living conditions were unlawful and potentially fatal. 1. Defective electrical equipment (potential fire hazard) 2. Defective gas boiler (no hot water or heating at the premises) 3. No firefighting equipment present at the property 4. No fire doors, no doors in the property fit into the door frame. 5. No means/direction/fire exit signs present at property. 6. No heat detection in kitchen. 7. Electrical equipment not tested. 8. Filthy conditions. 9. Cheap nasty furnishings and mattress. 10. No toilet roll provided. 11. Fridge Freezer Defective leaking water onto kitchen floor. 12. No parking space. 13. Property smelt of cigarette smoke. 14. Windows wouldn't open.
DESCRIBED AS APARTMENTS BUT IN REALITY THEY'RE RUNDOWN SUB STANDARD CONDEMNED PROPERTIES IN LOW SOCIO-ECONOMIC AREAS.....given a link of paint - with a bunch of young chances conducting business via an absent (Dubai) property business shark over WhatsApp messages, while cutting every conceivable corner possible to make a quick buck on the back of our health & safety.......and that isn't a stretch!!

United KingdomThe customer service was terrible We booked after doing the great north run It was pouring with rain We went to the property only to be told we couldn’t check in yet and wasn’t sure when it would be This was after check in time We were left outside in the pouring rain We decided not to wait any longer as we were soaking wet and freezing cold We cancelled the booking as they couldn’t accommodate date is at the time and should of told us that check in would be much later We would not have booked if we had known this I proceeded to email and complain as they then took the money from my account I explained what had happened and that we were not happy with the service They have not even replied to the email But do expect me to leave a good review about my stay Not impressed at all 😡

In regards to our stay we have to say that overall we were disappointed. The mix up with the payment at the start of the day was not a grate start. Then this was followed by was lack of heating and no hot water in the shower. With the fact that boiler was not working and we had to fix the issue ourselves was not something you expect when you book a place to stay for the night. The time it took to fix the issue resulted in most of us being late by 1 hour and my daughter being late by 2 and half hours to my sister’s wedding reception. The heating did not work so the apartment was cold that made it feel dirty although over you could see that the apartment was clean for the exception of the entrance hall behind the front door. This was my first stay in any sort of Air B&B and I can stay I don’t think I will use this sort of service again and will revert back to a hotel stay. We feel that with all the issues our stay was not value for money and would appreciate some sort of partial refund for our stay.
