Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBreakfast There was no option for breakfast as I normally have continental so it turned out very expensive at £16 a head also evening meals was a set menu no choice this didn't suit me so had to travel out of area every evening for a meal and you had to book in advance. Would go back to visit the island but stay other end where there's more going on.
Breakfast was OK. Location was good right by the sea a little tea room and local shop just up the road , cafe across the road only opened when the owner felt like that was it there wasn't even a local pub so basically you had to eat in the hotel every night . Hotel was loverly, bedrooms have been updated to a good standard and very comfortable more renovations to come over the winter.

United KingdomWe paid more for the terrace, but I did not realise this would be a joint terrace with many other rooms. Luckily we were visiting outside of the season, so it was very quiet, but it could have been rather disappointing to find to pay more for room with common terrace. The staff were friendly, but sometimes not very helpful (eg. we were missing towels and drinking cups/glasses in our room, so I thought that the lady at the reception would have been the best person to ask for help, but she sent us to look for someone else, which was not right the corner and the person was not there). The room was tidy, but it would have been nicer to have some glasses rather than plastic cups in the bath to have some water.
The location and the view from our room were fantastic.

United KingdomNo water, fridge or mini bar provided in the room. No AC or I couldn't locate it. I don't drive so you are stuck at hotel for meals. You can commute via tour bus and prebooked taxi to Yarmouth for food and drink. No other restaurants located nearby. Limited drinks available in hotel bar i.e no full fat coke. Wifi signal in my room didn't work. I only had a signal in the restaurant.
The view was lovely - it was a beach front room. I had a free upgrade of the room on my arrival. The room was spacious and clean. Food in the restaurant is very nice.

United KingdomOverall disappointing. The family room was £340/night plus Breakfast at an extra £18 per person/day put us off using the hotel for breakfast so we never used it for evening meal either. The hotel itself is dated and needs a little love. It looks neglected from the outside, Crumbling paint and broken tiles on the terrace. The pool is clean and facilities clean but the water is cold. Peak season and the hotel felt empty. Shame as it looked promising.
Clean rooms, serviced daily, room had a terraced area outside, location on a lovely quiet beach. Family room had plenty space for 4. Lots of free parking outside the hotel.

United KingdomI waited quite a while to check in, as the reception staff are not always manning the desk and there is no way to alert them of your presence. Although the dinner was certainly served with large enough portions to justify the price tag, my salmon was undercooked. However, I have no doubt the staff would have replaced it if I had asked, as they were extremely helpful.
The hotel is in a stunning location. Freshwater Bay is busy with beachgoers during the day, but quiet at night. The dining room in particular has a stunning view, although I was completely alone in enjoying it as the high price for food seemed to have scared the other guests away! The generous bathroom was a much appreciated luxury after a long walk, even in the cheapest room option. I also loved the efforts the hotel had made to be environmentally conscious.

United KingdomThe big selling point for this hotel for us was the view of the bay from the room, and the balcony. while some of the rooms had separate balcony, our balcony was basically a penned off area of part of the roof, over the bar of the hotel, shared with five other rooms. With not much work the area could be very nice, but at the moment, there is not much privacy and the rails could do with a coat of paint. Also some net curtain or blinds for the patio door’s would be good. The room it’s self was very nice.
Nice room, with a good view over the bay.

United KingdomCost of breakfast at £18 per person, although the 3 course meal was only £19 per person!! Didn't eat in the hotel as we met friends for breakfast and we went out for dinner. Location is good for the beach, however there isn't any pubs/restaurants or even a café within walking distance so you need your car. The hotel folder is full of rules which are slightly off putting ie £10/12 corkage fee for bringing your own drink to the hotel and no takeaways! Décor is a little outdated.
Large exceptionally clean room and bathroom with very comfortable bed. Lovely swimming pool.

United KingdomLiked everything but a mini fridge in our room would of been helpful
The hotel is overlooking the beach and the views from the hotel were amazing it's set in a lovely secluded spot with wonderful beaches and local area to explore with good bus links to tourist attractions and larger towns like Yarmouth and Newport but does get less often in the evenings. The staff was helpful answering any questions we asked. We had a ground floor sea view double room and it was wonderful to hear the sea from our room.
