Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

United KingdomOur experience was overwhelmingly positive, and we very much recommend this property, but travellers may wish to note that the double beds are UK standard (i.e. smaller than the standard of some other countries) and the kitchen utensils relatively limited (e.g. no cafetiere and large pots), at least at the time of writing.
Very spacious and comfortable flat, having two bathrooms made a positive difference to us as a family travelling together, it's very well kept and located a short walk away from the town centre and its restaurants and shops. Highly recommended!

CanadaThe freezer needed defrosting and was all iced up, there was inadequate toilet paper, kitchen roll, washing tabs for the washing machine and towels for a five day stay - disappoint ing in view if the cost of the apartment Lack of good updated instructions on the stove top , washer dryer and Wi-Fi No hairdryer on arrival had to call about this.

SpainThe key collection experience was terrible. We arrived at 10pm, having already advised of our arrival time, and spent over an hour looking for the lock box. Finally a neighbor (who must have mistaken us for prowlers) indicated that she thought it was located in the garbage room. The most unfortunate part of this whole situation is that the property did not give us any instructions on how to access the lock box, nor did they answer the phone in this emergency situation that almost ruined our trip. On the contrary, Booking responded with extreme diligence and were already arranging the relocation at the time when this savior neighbor appeared.

United KingdomVery difficult to access the accomodation because there was nobody there to sort the arrival and no information was given on whereabout the keys were to access the building. We came for a wedding and arrived an hour late because we couldn't access the accomodation on time. No hot water in the morning in either showers.
The staff was really helpful on the phone and the place was very clean.
