Dormitory was sectioned off into compartments with curtains, giving some privacy. It was quiet when I stayed there. Kitchen and bathroom facilities good. Nice friendly staff. Ready meals available. No wifi or phone reception though.

The sat nav lead me on a wild goose chase. Best to type Achmelvich beach into the sat nav rather than the postcode otherwise you will end up a mile away. There was bit of a pong from the bin in the kitchen. It probably hadn't been taken out in a few days.

Nice location. The building is nice. The beds were comfortable The facilities were good. You are close to the beach though when I was there the weather was bad.

The breakfast is maybe a bit too expensive as well as the price of the night for a youth hostel.

The box of two people was nice. The tenant was welcoming.

Hosts were very helpful and had made a fire for our arrival on motorcycles in typically wet Scottish July ! Bedding / towels included helped with us being on the bikes. Basic but had what was needed.

the weather! beyond the control of the hostel caretakers.!!

the location... very near a stunning beach ( pity about The weather!!) very practical kitchen and was able to sit infront of a log fire after dinner. Wonderful! Excellent bed, warm and cozy, bottom bunk in a two bunk sector of a mixed dorm room but I was solitary sleeper no one on top bunk....very private with full length curtains to screen off other sleeping areas.

Room-price relation is laughable. I had warm hotel rooms with ensuite bathroom with bathtub for cheaper

Located right on the beach, warm welcome plenty of crockery and free food, ensuite toilet in room 2, nice welcome at breakfast. Very very quiet

The location was stunning. The staff where super friendly accomodating and helpful. They had curtains separating each bunk bed from the others which was a really nice touch I haven't seen at many othe hostels

Never stayed in a youth hostel before but found it very plesent. There is everthing you need. We were just staying one night travelling around Scotland. Staff very friendly and after being in a camper van for 3 nights it was a change to sleep in a bed.

No bike storage, had to leave it outside which made me uneasy but Ben provided a rain cover and that was the best he could do, couldn’t fault the efforts of staff

Very cosy hostel, I had the room to myself. Spacious and clean kitchen facilities, staff Ben and Sally were friendly and superb! They are a credit to YHA

The room we stayed in had a small window that was well above head height so was not great. we didn't expect a lot from the room as its a hostel but it was only one night so was bearable. Everything else made up for it. Also it was a shame that we could not take our dog into the sitting area. We have stayed at YHA's and this has never been a problem.

Fabulous location, lovely people running it, great kitchen facility/seating area, lovely and cosy, quirky and interesting. Beautiful beach and lovely walks.
