Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThere was nothing that we didn't like. We would return to Belfast, and use this accommodation again.
We had a pleasant two nights at this accommodation. No problem with finding it. A text came with instructions about location and convenience stores near by, and how to get the keys, it all went very straightforward for us. The accommodation was on a quiet side street, central to Belfast City, located in East Belfast. We walked in & out, it takes approximately 15 mins at a good pace. A number for a Taxi is in the accommodation. Bus route into the city is at the top of the road on the main street. We had a car, parking was free on the street outside. The accommodation was very clean. The kitchen was well stocked for breakfast, eggs, bread, jams, almond & light milk, gluten free cereals, fruit, pastry. Rice & pasta if you wanted to cook also sandwich toaster . There is an iron, washer & dryer. Our bedroom with ensuite had shampoo & liquid soaps. Our bed was in against a wall. The room was small but space is well utilised. There was a window. It's right next to Temple more swimming pool & gym which stays open until 10pm. Great facility to be beside.

United StatesAlthough we only spent a night before catching an early morning flight from Belfast City Airport, more than met our needs. Rooms are small but very modern. Excellent kitchen and common room. Short walk from Titanic Train Station.

United KingdomEverytime we came in the front door key system had not been activated by other residents and therefore was unlocked. The double mattress could have been less well used.
The property - a Victorian house that has been renovated well and was clean and well appointed. The room and adjoining ensuite was compact. The communal living area and kitchen were very good as were the self service breakfast choices. Street parking for our car was very useful. Bus routes to the city only a short walk away.

United KingdomNot a reflection on the host or property, but when we came back from the concert, there was a couple in the kitchen and the woman was being violently ill in the kitchen sink. It completely put me off, we had intended to have some coffee and toast when we got back, but changed our minds and just went to bed. I understand that there’s nothing you can do about this sort of thing. We just took some fruit and croissants but didn’t stay for breakfast.
Clear instructions for entering the property and room. Clean room, warm and comfy bed, we both slept really well. Bedroom was small, but that didn’t matter, it suited our needs for the night. Lovely en-suite. Plenty of food and drinks available in kitchen for breakfast/snacks. Kitchen was excellent, very clean and new looking.

BelgiumNeighbors chatting in their room were audible from our room.
Practical (self-service check-in and kitchen), comfortable room and ample space. The location is also fine, there is a grocery store nearby, and a shopping centre + retail park a short walk away (15-20 minutes).

United KingdomEverything was good but I think that it would benefit from having more shelves in the room, bathroom and shower tray.
Very clean throughout, comfortable bed. Good selection of food for breakfast and great to take breakfast in your own time. Also, good to come and go as you please. Excellent location for some attractions and town centre. The owner, Jim, is a very friendly and approachable person, always willing to help out.

GermanyThe confirmation email didn’t explain the self-service breakfast so I needed to contact the owner which I felt bad about. There was no shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom as I had assumed from the hotel inventory.

IrelandThe blind in the room was broken and we couldn't open it for the duration of our stay. The room was a bit dusty and had stains on the wall underneath the blind.
Staff was very friendly and welcoming. The common bathroom and kitchen area was kept clean. The breakfast supplies were nice and they had alternative milk like Oat & Soya milk which was great.

IrelandThe only issue we encountered was the stairs, as the wife uses a stick & stairs are always an issue for her. This is no fault of The Avenue, but Jim was so apologetic and would have moved us if there was a room available.
JIm is a lovely bloke. Kept thanking us for chosing The Avenue & he really left us treat it like home.

New ZealandStairs were initially a challenge, especially with a larger case, but we got used to them.
Shared kitchen and dining/lounge area was brilliant. Generous breakfast provisions, and a generous amount of cooking equipment and additional grocery provisions all in excellent condition. Our top floor room was private and a good size, with a 180 degree street view.
