“It’s absolutely beautiful. Both of us work in sectors that are heavily involved in art & history so we genuinely love an authentic period property, and the hotel oozes charm from the second you glimpse its façade. Fabulous position on the sea edge with a gorgeous view. We were smitten with the building , and with Dunbar, which we hadn’t visited before but found to be a real gem of a place”

“The property was in a good place. Dunbar itself was a quaint little town. All the surroundings were lovely.”

“Lovely period hotel with lots of character in a great location. The staff are all fabulous, very warm, welcoming and friendly with a great customer service ethos. Breakfast is served in the conservatory dining room and gives a great choice for everyone. We ate dinner here two nights running and I have to say the food was superb - well done to the chef for both great tasting and beautiful looking food. And the views from the hotel are gorgeous.”

  • Dreamhaven Review score: 8.3

“The house was ideally located and easily found. It was just off the main road. It was near to a supermarket, fuel station and restaurant. All within walking distance. We were greeted by the owner who made us very welcome and told us about the room and facilities. The breakfast was good and met our needs. It was all good value for money.”

“Great location looking out over bay. Service was exceptional , staff so friendly and helpful which made all the difference. Dunbar is a lovely town .. with cafes and plenty of places to eat. Some good walks along coastal path to Belhaven Bay. The John Muir museum is worth a visit and is free. Good base for travel to Edinburgh and hotels signficantly less expensive in Dunbar. Local bus (X7) runs about every 40 mins into Edinburgh and tales about an hour ( Bus ticket £8.50 return )”

  • “Loved that the restaurant/pub is right next door from the hotel. The staff were lovely and offered a great service. For children there’s a park and a little play area inside the restaurant which was a great extra to our stay. The breakfast the next day was amazing!”

“Breakfast ok but you either had to have toast straight away or would come after you had finished your cooked meal.”
