Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaRoom was a bit small but very reasonable for Paris standards. Still comfortably fit 2.
Location was awesome. Great grocers and small independent food stores around. Metro within 5 mins of walking was the Arc De Triomphe.

IrelandIt didn't bother me personally, but a lot of steps up to the fifth floor (no elevator)
This was a very nice budget hotel in an excellent location - 5/10 minutes walk from the Champs Elysees and Arc de Triomphe. Room was clean and new, and it was excellent value-for-money for Paris. Lovely neighbourhood, with lots of typical French shops nearby. Three minutes walk from Ternes subway station

RomaniaOne day (out of 4) there was sewage smell coming from the bathroom. Also, the bathroom had a sliding door which did not close properly, so the smell was not confined there. However, I believe this is a common occurence for all old Paris buildings when there s sewage problems. No elevator.
The staff was polite and helpful. Great location. Rooms were clean.

SlovakiaThere is no elevator!! For us, it was no issue, however it might be something to keep in mind when booking your stay, especially if you have some health issues. The room was also very spacious, so including a mini fridge or kettle might have been a nice addition to the room amenities. But these are just really minor things, overall we had an amazing stay!
The location of the hotel is very convenient, it's a few minute walk from arc de triomphe. The staff of the hotel was very nice!! We arrived earlier than check in time and left later than check out time but the staff was very attentive and let us store our baggage. Our room was on the top floor, which gave us a nice view of the nearby street :) The room was also very clean and allowed us to have a very nice stay!!

United StatesI requested and was confirmed to get a top floor room with a view, but had a window looking out on a brick wall and an alley and not on the top floor. However, with no lift and tight stairs leading to a tiny room, I'm glad it wasn't any higher of a climb. Staff helped with luggage though, so it was just us being worn out from walking all day that the final climb to the bed chamber was an inconvenience. There was also a loud and persistent whining equipment noise that was mostly cut down by the nice double pain windows. Finally, the street is closed to traffic and is a semi-permanent produce market, which is good in ways, but I was told i could drop off luggage and check in at the hotel then drive to a parking garage, but with further investigation via street view, i realized trying to get close enough to park and drop luggage was probably going to be more of a hassle than schlepping our luggage down the street a few blocks. Again, us being tired from jet-lag and walking this was only a hassle for us who pack too much.
Location; friendly, helpful 24-hour staff; nice breakfast though we didn't partake.

United KingdomNothing to comment on
Warm and friendly small hotel with charm and character , our room was on the 4 floor there’s no lift but staff helped us with our bags and the stair case was wide and not too steep. Comfy beds with a TV, en-suite. There was enough hanging space for two if you are on a long weekend break. Breakfast was excellent value , coffee, juice, cereal, warm bread/ croissants with jams, ham & cheese ( served between 7-10 am). The staff were very friendly and happy to give advice about places to eat and drink. The Hotel is in Poncelet on a lovely small street with cafes, market stalls, and lovely bakers and butchers . It’s about 5 mins walk to Ternes metro ( line 2) which is great for getting around the city & the Arc de Triomphe is 10 walk mins away. Overall great value for money & in a perfect location to explore Paris.
