Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdomn/a we enjoyed everything about the guest house and our hosts
Fabulous guest house, room facilities and host, the communal/courtyard is a delightful space, the sensitive interior design, space and style lovely. The beds were super comfy (memory foam topper) and spotless as was the room and facilities (Nespresso pod machine a bonus). Cafes, restaurants and bars a few minutes walk as is the main Chartron shopping district - lots of independent stores. A 15 minute walk along the river takes you to the heart of downtown. Sunday markets on the quay in Chartron district. Our host Ludovic was very helpful and present to ask any advice or guidance. Highly recommend and will definitely like to stay again when visiting Bordeaux again. Thank you Ludovic. PS: Tanjia Room and patio 💜

IrelandGreat guesthouse that suited us perfectly for a three night stay. Fresh breakfast in the morning laid out by the host but prepared by yourself. Approx 4 minute walk to one of the tramlines into the city centre.

Fantastic apartment, loved the kids little nooks and the roof top terrace. Brilliant air con and the most delicious breakfast. We loved squeezing oranges for juice and the croissants were the best we have ever tasted!

United KingdomMy only negative is that our room is advertised with a balcony. Whilst it does have a small 'Juliet' balcony, there is no space to sit out which was slightly misleading. Other than that it was great.
Our stay was fantastic. It is in a very peaceful part of Bordeaux but everything could be accessed by walking or the tram/bus which is very close by. The house is lovely inside and our room was very large and comfortable. The host was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was self serve but that suited us.

CyprusWe particularly liked the room, the breakfast that was served in the kitchen that felt like home. Also we could drink fresh ground coffee. The rooms are very carefully designed. We stayed at the room with the patio which was amazing. The owner was very polite. The location was 10 minute walk from the centre (during the walk you can discover pretty things) from Chantron's area , a really beautiful neighborhood and from the Jardin public.

AustraliaSmall kitchen in the apartment was not very well equipped but I guess we could use the guest kitchen- but I wasn’t sure if it was ok ?
Lovely apartment on top floor with open terrace. The bed was very comfortable and my daughter loved the little side single bed area. The self serve breakfast was good for us . Tram to the center of Bordeaux was not too far away

United KingdomBed was very soft - likely mattress needed replaced. Otherwise door to our room didn't open very well, dragged on the floor and was noisy. Not an issue for us but property is up a flight of stairs. There was no real contact from staff, other than one man leaving food in at breakfast time - given accommodation type we were happy with this/didnt expect otherwise.
Convenient pin pad entry to lock box to pick up keys. Property not far from tram stop so very accessible. Supermarket and cafes/restaurants close by. Near Rue de notre dame and enjoyable walk to centre, with plenty of accessible public transport options. Communal living space comfortable, clean and welcoming. Nice fresh decor, modern and welcoming property. Breakfast very informal - bread/croissants/fresh fruit/yoghurts - met our needs, and all self service including making coffee and squeezing oranges for juice, we had no issue with this, but other guests appeared to. We travelled with a 15month old and property provided high chair and travel cot.

CanadaOur room was on eve same floor as the kitchen and it was essentially impossible to sleep past 8am (breakfast is 8-10am) because of the noise from people preparing breakfast.
The room was large and clean. The kitchen was well-appointed. Breakfast was simple but good.

South AfricaQuick showers and can’t shower directly after one another as water is held in a small geyser. If they are fully booked it’s quite loud and noise travels through to the rooms.

United StatesWe had the king room (room 3) and deluxe king room (room 1). The king room has a patio to inner court yard that was very quite and not too hot. The Deluxe King room has a bit street noise during the day, but very quite at night. It is also hotter than the other room. Neighborhood is about 5 minutes walk to the tram and 20 minutes ride to the old city. The bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was very good, including baked goods, egg cooker, fresh made fruit salad, fresh squeezed orange juice, yogurts. The living room, kitchen area is very large, providing additional space to hung out.
