Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesThe air conditioning was not on for the first few nights of our stay, so our hotel rooms were very hot. The ac came on during our last night at the hotel, and we all slept wonderfully that night! Originally, two of our team members were placed in a room with an extremely small bathroom and shower. The shower was difficult to stand in. We asked if it was possible to switch rooms, and the staff member was very nice and allowed us to move to a room with a nice bathroom.
The location of the hotel was very close to the train station we arrived at, which made walking through Paris with our luggage much easier! The rooms had very comfortable beds, and the staff members were always great to work with.

GermanyAn assessment is difficult. What can the hotel do about the constant noise in Paris, especially from the traffic? Triple glazing instead of the double glazing in the room? I wouldn't have been able to sleep at night without earplugs. Of course, the price level in Paris is considerably higher than anywhere else in France. Nevertheless, the city was very crowded with tourists, with a long queue at the Louvre entrance on Sunday morning before 10am. Paris is expensive, so this hotel is no bargain.
The proximity to Montparnasse station, less than 5 minutes walk. Even the second busiest metro line in Paris, line 4, which runs from north to south and connects to all other metro lines, is only a short distance away. The breakfast was fine. The room was small but functionally equipped. There was even a rain shower in the bathroom.

United KingdomIt was a bit shabby as in the lifts were in need of some TLC but considering the property not surprising. The outside of the rooms was dusty and the rooms were a bit weirdly shaped.
Property was decent, the facilities were kept up and there was good lighting and facilities and space especially for the price.

BrazilToo expensive. To hotel is not at the main street (secondary street) and not worth the price. The lift and the stairs are so short that is not possible to go up (comfortably). In double rooms, there are not energy sockets near to each bed and you need to keep your electronics on the small table for charging. Some of the members of the staff were not fluent in English. I have not information about breakfast.
