Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe breakfast, we ate breakfast on the first day but the pastries were basic, just down the street there are 2 bakeries so we got our croissants & pastries from there for the remainder of our stay, they were so much better and I'm perplexed as to why the hotel dont use fresh local produce instead of what they do use.
Location was great with some amazing restaurants nearby

NetherlandsThe rooms and hotel are slightly basic (even for +200 per night) but still sufficient.
Perfect location. In the middle of Montmartre en walking distance to Gare du Nord (approx. 15 minutes), Pigalle and Sacré-Coeur. There is a metro station at 5 minutes walking from metro station Place de Abbesses. Several nice breakfast spots nearby: Les Fistons and Tabac.

United StatesStaff was wonderful. Good breakfast. The room was extremely small for even European standards. Our room was next to a staff restroom and some type of service room-maybe luggage storage. It was so insanely loud all night because of that.

United KingdomThe rooms were very small. The shower cubicle and separate toilet were very cramped. There were clothes hangers in the wardrobe but no shelves to put clothes on.
The location is great, close to restaurants, shops, tourist attractions. We really enjoyed staying here. The hotel is clean and well decorated and the staff were very polite.

United StatesThis is not really a criticism just an adjustment of expectations. There is no elbow room, particularly in the bathroom. Very close quarters.

United StatesTimhotel in Montmartre is a small but 3 story hotel located in a lovely neighborhood which is walkable to every place you’d like to explore in Montmartre. We arrived upon this area on Labour Day , 5/1/24 and it was very crowded as all of Paris was. Even with the crowds the charm of this area prevailed. Restaurants, shops, Sacre Coeur etc! Our rooms were on the smaller side but very well appointed with lovely crisp clean beddings and an updated bathroom. The floor to ceiling windows that opened up looking out onto the tree lined square added to the ambiance. The front desk staff was very helpful holding our bags for us for 2 hours since we arrived earlier than check in time which was 2 pm. The staff ordered a taxi for us the day before our departure in order to get us to the airport. You can imagine my surprise when our taxi driver was actually a staff member from the hotel who drove us in his nice private car. It was $60 euros which my friend and I split. I wish I could remember the drivers name. He was a very friendly and professional, helpful man to my friend and I who are in our 70’s and needed help lifting our suitcases. And before I forget, the included breakfast was perfect. Everything we expected, eggs, bacon , yogurt( lots of varieties), fruit, breads, croissants and even mini crepes and a big jar of Nutella next to it. Tea and coffee if course!! Keep up the good work Timhotel!!

United KingdomThe tea and coffee making facilities in the room were less than generous with two tiny milk pods, one tiny packet containing 2 biscuits to share, cardboard cups. For this price, it would be so simple to be more generous with milk so that guests could have more than just one cup of coffee or tea per day without having to keep going down to ask for more at reception. Whilst we were there, the water was cut off (for me unfortunately this was half way through a shower). Reception did send up a small bucket of water for me to rinse some of the suds. When, an hour later, the water didn't come back on, I asked for some bottled water so that our family could make some refreshments/ have some drinking water, the request was refused! Only when I protested did some bottled water appear. Timhotel is a large chain and this is demonstrated in staff morale/ lack of proper hospitality training. You may find a warmer welcome at a smaller, family run establishment.
You pay for the location of this hotel. The view from the superior rooms with balcony were exceptional taking in the rooftops of Paris, the Eiffel Tower. Just what we wanted. The hotel is a stone's throw away from the Sacre Coeur and numerous cafes and restaurants. (The best restaurants require advance reservations).
