Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaView from the window is non existent facing the gray wall, corridors and elevators are really small and narrow. The place is relatively tiny
Good location at Magenta, close to Gare Le est and Gare du Nord. Great breakfast with good selection of cheese.

Location - easy walk from Gate du Nord and once you have dropped your luggage off it is easy to walk to Notre Dame. Lovely large bed At this price in this location you won't get views of the city (we had a close-up view of a wall), but the location makes up for it. Staff at desk was very friendly

GermanyA little bit far from all the attractions. The area is not really family friendly.
Stayed here one night with my niece and we enjoyed it a lot! Especially Ahmed took very good care of us and made us feel comfortable everytime! The room was really spacious and clean. We got a huge bed and an additional twin bed (which wasn’t needed). The AC worked well. It was quiet at night although our room was facing the street. The hotel is just a 5min walk from Gare de l‘Est from where we arrived. From there it is easy to reach any destination by metro. We didn’t go out at night but at daytime I didn’t feel much comfortable walking in that area, especially with a child. For a short stay in Paris it is a good hotel to stay.

AustraliaIt seems quite rundown and needs some updating. My room had stained carpet and the bathroom sink seemed a bit rickety (every time I leaned on it it moved and creaked like it was going to fall off the wall). I certainly couldn’t imagine spending a romantic getaway here (which is what the website says).
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and the bed was comfortable. It was an OK place to stay for a few days. I had a nice view out of my window.

Italy- The room, lift, corridor, breakfast room, staircase, and all passageways are quite narrow and crammed. However, this must be considered in relation to the average of central Paris, and this accommodation is excellent value for money for such a central and convenient location.
- The position is excellent, in a beautiful and central area of Paris, just a few minutes' walk away from Canal St Martin. - While the spaces are small, the room is well-equipped, with nothing missing (e.g. there is a small fridge, working Wi-Fi connection, etc.) - The staff is helpful and friendly; a particular mention for Serge, who speaks several languages and is always willing to help. - The breakfast is good and varied.

Nice hotel. The staff is very friendly (specially Ahmed) and the room met our expectations. The bed was comfy and it had air conditioner, quite useful in these warm days. I recommend this hotel.

United StatesRooms were a bit on the smallish side and the bathroom configurations seemed to be pieced together with "whatever fits where". We stayed here on two different nights and the second room, a triple, had a more cramped bathroom than our first night.
The hotel is located on a side street off of a main thoroughfare. Very little traffic so the area is quiet. The staff were friendly and accommodating. There are plenty of restaurants within a few minutes walk.

United StatesThe only thing I didn't like is the noise of the neighbors' doors (when open and close). But I do have very sensitive ears compared to normal people, so maybe it won't bother other people.
I recommend this hotel if you want a central place to stay. Walking distance to 2 train stations and several metros. Safe environment. Spotless clean bathroom (how is that possible?) Convenient stores nearby for your eating and shopping needs. Above all, great staff members! Everyone I meet were helpful and sweet and cheerful. I especially want to thank the sir who allowed me to store luggage before going out to see Olympics opening, and the sir who greeted me after being completely soaked in the rain after the Olympics opening, and the sir who put me in the first floor and stopped watching TV just so I can have a quiet evening.

SwitzerlandUnfortunately, the toilet in the bathroom was leaking constantly due to faulty installation and the equipment. This resulted in the bathroom floor in the room being flooded. The problem took 3 days to resolve and the only other solution in the end was to change rooms for my last evening. The housekeeping staff should have been more vigilant in spotting the leakage, as the water accumulation on the floor around the toilet tank was very obvious.
The hotel was a short walk from both the Gare du Nord station and the Jacques Bonsergent metro (line 5). The location was convenient for getting around the city, either with public transportation or on foot, and was close to bars, cafés, bakeries and restaurants. The room size matched what was displayed on the website and the staff was friendly, and quick at handling the check-in process.
