Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandUnfortunately it’s a very noisy location so not for those who are light sleepers.
Very central to everything in Biarritz. Best of all it’s next door to Les Halles which is a paradise for any gourmand.

FranceWhen we arrived there was a 3 day braderie which made it very difficult to get to the hotel by car many roads where closed and all the parking were full . Also there were roadworks in , Les Halles, where the hotel was situated and it made it all a bit difficult. Not the fault of the hotel but a heads up would have been helpfu
It was a very Central Location the Lady who ran the Hotel was charming and helpful, plenty of places nearby to eat and drink

IrelandThe very pleasant little balcony had full-height openable glass doors, which was lovely for getting air into the room, but the curtains only extended the lower third of the height. A kettle with some teas and coffees would have been a nice addition too, but for less than €70 a night it was fine. Would stay here again.
Really great location in the city centre near to all attractions. My room had a bath, which is always a plus for me. Automated check-in with the details sent in advance (including detailed directions), which is another plus point. There was a television with the main French FTA channels and there were several electrical sockets. There were sufficient towels and toiletries provided, and a nice touch was a tourist map of the city left in the room.

AustraliaA little fridge would be very handy
Location wise this was so convenient. A restaurant in the building which was excellent and many within a 200m walk. The fresh food market is across the road. A supermarket 200m away. I had a corner room so good air flow to cool down with a sea breeze, there is no aircon but a fan was provided. Shutters help to keep it from getting too hot. Shutters also kept out the noise from the lively street below that is the price to pay for being in the action. I enjoyed the music from a band playing, on one night great atmosphere. Also convenient for the beaches a short walk away.

IrelandBecause the hotel is near lovely restaurants it is quite noisy outside at night. It was nice and quiet the following morning though..
Frederique was very helpful with answering questions and arranging a taxi. She gave me a very warm welcome and explained where all the beaches, cafes, shops etc were. She also made sure to say goodbye. Lovely, friendly person and that makes a difference! The room was small but had everything you need including a TV and hairdryer. The bed was very comfortable. The location was very convenient for restaurants, beaches, shops and commuting. Just a little tip... Make sure to look up above street level when trying to find it as there is a restaurant with a different name downstairs.

PortugalFor someone who is very sensitive to noise, the restaurant downstairs could be a problem. I personally had no problem at all sleeping when I used earplugs and closed the window. No elevator, so for someone with mobility issues it might not be ideal.
Great location, very central. Only a short walk to the beach and to all the shops and restaurants. Spotlessly clean. Super friendly and extra helpful staff, they really went above and beyond. They made my stay unforgettable. Comfortable room, comfortable bed.

PanamaI didn’t think not having an A/C would be an issue but it was. The room was a bit hot and opening the window would have been a solution but the cafes down below on the street generate a lot of noise, late into the night.
The location is great, right in the middle of town, steps from restaurants, shops, supermarket and bus stops. The staff was super friendly and accommodating.

United StatesIt is loud at night due to the late night cafe crowds and street cleaning machines. The windows block out most noise, but only a fan to keep cool in the summer is not enough - the room was quite stuffy.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. It is a beautiful old style hotel above many cafes and near beaches.

CanadaDuring my stay it was very hot, but the window had to be shut to cut down the noise from the street till quite late. Although a good fan is provided, the room was still very warm in the high temperature at the time. For the noise, I would recommend good ear plugs for a quieter sleep.
The room was small but comfortable. With the window opened, the street noise was quite loud. There is quite a lot of activities going on in that area at "happy hour" time. The hotel is convenient to shops and restaurants and a 10 minutes walk to the main beach.
