Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesRoom size is a bit on the small size and there is no view of the city. For the price, I think there might be better accommodations where you'd have a view and more room.
The staff at the hotel were great and very helpful. The location was only a few blocks from several transportation hubs which made getting around the city a breeze. The room was clean but very small. If we were staying longer then a few nights we would prefer a lorger room to be able to unpack and feel a little less crowded.

United StatesThe bathroom is really small. It's about 5 feet by 5 feet. The shower is about 28 inches by 28 inches. It takes some skill to use it. The sink is big.
The location is good, just 5 minutes walk from Gare de Lyon. There are many restaurants around and they open till late hours. I feel safe walking back to hotel after dark because many restaurants are still open.

The hotel is located very close to the train station, which also connects to the metro and RER trains. It is a small hotel, and rooms are small but, this is Paris, and the majority of hotels have small rooms. The room was exactly what I booked, and the photos matched the reality. The staff was warm and welcoming. They have luggage storage option if you have time to explore Paris after you check out. I would say that the price-wise, it is the best value for money.

AustraliaOverall the room was clean, set out reasonably well and serviceable. It is smaller than the average room, but it met our needs.
We were able to do an online booking late in the evening due to our train being delayed and it was actioned quickly. Staff member on duty was very nice, dealt with us really well. It's a basic setup that met our needs and is IMHO good value for money.
