Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSadly the metro line wasn’t working when we visited. Although this is out of your their control, we would probably have booked elsewhere since this meant a bit of faff taking a replacement bus every time, sometimes in peak times. But we definitely liked the experience and would go back to it in the future.
Lots of good things about this place: the lobby is rather cool, our one-bed apartment was new and well equipped, breakfast (not included in our rate) was yummy. For family with kids, having Bercy village at the doorstep may be beneficial, as you can easily stock on basics at the little local Carrefour, find a local restaurant that’s not crowded with tourists (oops!), or get a takeaway to eat in the room if the little ones are exhausted. Crucially, there is a metro station around the corner but make sure it’s open!

TaiwanThe room type shown on booking.com was not the same as the room I checked into. The room I chose from booking.com had a small living room area with a sofa, but the room I got was not like that. I had a good impression of this hotel, so this was the second time I stayed here, but after this experience, I felt disappointed. The hotel staff was kind and tried to explain to me. We felt the problem was that the photos on booking.com caused misunderstanding.
Our flight was cancelled because of the weather, so we could not arrive at the hotel on the first day. The hotel staff still kept the room for us, which we appreciated.

United KingdomDifficulty with room key not working and hotel lost our details and questioned us in what felt an unprofessional way. We had to ask for a receipt when paid on arrival; this was fortunate as even though our bags were in our room, when our keys didn’t work, we were accompanied to room by security to retrieve receipt to prove we were actually booked in. There was no apology for this.

AzerbaijanWe stayed here for 8 nights, with the baby we needed good accessibility. There is a modern elevator, which has enough space for a stroller and three adults. There is a metro station nearby, which also has an elevator. It would be better to check the official paris metro website to make sure the metro is not closed due to maintenance, we had to use the bus for two days for this reason. Our baby only sleeps in a dark room, the curtains in the room block 100% of sunlight. The shared kitchen has several tables, there is always coffee available, at nights when baby sleep it is a very cozy place to relax.

United StatesThere is no air conditioning in the room or hotel. We stayed in late September with temperatures around 80 degrees everyday. It was warm in the room all the time. We slept with the balcony door open every night. We were on the 8th floor, so it seemed safe enough. With no screen door for the balcony, we had new mosquito bits every morning. Not enough towels in the room. We could have asked for more. Breakfast was expensive so we ate at a local bakery just outside the hotel. Paris is working on all of the Metro lines to improve accessibility and other projects. The local Metro 14 was not running at all on the weekend, so we had to use the bus system which sucked big time. Paris is a VERY busy city. More people than I have ever seen. Busses were packed full nearly all the time. With the local metro station closed, busses were even busier. We came to Paris to see the tourist attractions and it was everything we expected and more. The rest of Paris was a little disappointing. Many parts of the city are dirty and covered in graffiti. We took the bus a lot and got to see more of the city than we expected.
The small hotel is located near the Metro 14 station and a few other bus lines. The hotel is located near Bercy Village which is an outdoor mall of several restaurants, shops and a small market. This is a busy area with people commuting to and from work via the metro station. Gare de Lyon is very close to the hotel which gives you easy access to the entire city. This is a great place to stay if you don't mind spending about 30 minutes to get to the attractions and are on a budget. The hotel room was acceptable. We are American and are accustomed to having larger rooms, but I knew rooms in Paris, and Europe overall, run small. We got a Superior Apartment with Balcony. The balcony has no furniture, but we didn't mind. There is a bed that can be folded into a couch, but we left it as a bed. We didn't spend much time in the room so a seating area wasn't needed. We had a small kitchenette, but only used the refrigerator to store water and other items. The hotel serves breakfast for about $16 Euros. We didn't eat here though. We ate at a great bakery called Ernest & Valentine that is located just a few steps from the hotel. Great food! The hotel was quiet, we couldn't hear any other guests. We slept with the balcony door open every night because it was warm in the room. The outside was a bit noisy, but settled down as it got later. It was warm and dry everyday.
