Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaCan’t fault it!.. highly recommend it!
Loved everything about this hotel! The location was perfect! walking distance to all restaurants, shopping and cathedral. Our room looked newly renovated. It was large, spacious and comfortable, overlooking one of the canals. Our bathroom was large with a double sink. The staff were all so lovely, friendly and very helpful!

BelgiumThe rooms although comfortable are totally bland and not quite convincing as 5 star-level accommodation. It is a very minor inconvenience but its worth knowing that from the Pavillon, one needs to walk outside and cross the (pedestrian) street to reach the main building (the Regent itself) for breakfast, the bar, restaurant and Spa and gym. The bar itself is rather on the pokey side and not nearly as nice as that of other hotels of the same grade in Strasbourg. More unfortunate was the air-conditioning system switched to 'winter' for the season despite the warm weather which made the room uncomfortable bordering on the suffocating. A fan was provided but obviously it was not really a solution.
This was not our first stay but the 'Pavillon' (essentially a second building of the Regent Petit France thats oddly treated as a separate hotel online only) is delightful. Our room was spacious and comfortably appointed. For visiting Strasbourg it is hard to imagine a better placed hotel, in the very heart of Petite France and all its restaurants and bars and no more than a 5 minute walk to the cathedral and the very quaint shopping district surrounding it. It is worth noting that despite its very central position in the historic centre's pedestrian zone, the hotel is accessible by car and most rooms are well soundproofed and very quiet at night.

United KingdomThe entrance to the Pavilion was a little soulless, perhaps this could be addressed!
Great location and the fact that we were a part of a renovated mill, which had been up sympathetically!

United StatesThe bed was a bit too firm for my tastes. A foam mattress topper would've been helpful.
The "pavilion" part of the Regence hotel is actually across the street from the main hotel in a converted medieval building, so it's more like staying in a small inn than a grand hotel. But it's very modern, clean, and accessible, and the view are spectacular. We were right on the canal in the heart of Petite France, and the room was spotless. The bathroom was especially nice, with a large shower and double sinks. It's not an inexpensive place to stay, but it's very memorable and wor the money.

BelgiumThe room, although pleasant, is spartan, with no real warmth or luxury to it. Being fairly recently renovated and maintained to a very high standard was its saving grace given the price. The windows are small. Although not really obvious in the Booking description the "pavilon" has no facilities of its own: the reception, concierge, bar, restaurant, spa, gym etc are in the "Regent" hotel itself which is, however, adjacent, just a few steps across the street. Access to the spa and gym is possible but not necessarily free and at least for the gym there is no changing room, so you have to arrive ready and dressed for action. The hotel bar is pretty unremarkable and there are certainly better options within a short walk. We did not try the restaurant or breakfast. . This is a pedestrian district, so car access, although possible, is slightly complicated. All streets surrounding the hotel are narrow and pedestrianised and cyclists are a hazard one needs to be permanently aware of.
Very nice smaller first class hotel in literally the best spot in Strasbourg, right in the heart of Petite France and a few minutes walk from the cathedral, shopping, the main museums and most other points of interest. Our room was in the "pavillon" annex, curiously marketed as a separate establishment on Booking although it is clearly an extention of the adjacent "Regent" hotel. The "executive" room overlooked the water which made for the perfect soundtrack to go to sleep to... It was a good sized room with a big bathroom (shower only), very clean and very well maintained. The area is full or restaurants, brasseries and bars of every description although some are more touristy than others. It is also perfect as the starting point for walks throughout the most picturesque and historic parts of the city.

United StatesWe extremely enjoyed Strasbourg! The staff at this hotel is great. We mentioned to the receptionist at the front desk we were celebrating my wife's 50th birthday and when we returned from dinner a bottle of champagne was waiting for us in the room with a very nice written message. Great people, culture, beauty and food!!
