Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThe aspect we liked the least was that the apartment was in a basement. There were some small high windows, but in general ventilation and natural light were scarce. Maybe this aspect is obvious in the apartment description or from the pictures, but we missed it and did not expect it. In any case, it did not bother us a lot because we did not spend a lot of time there.
The apartment was exactly what we needed for our Olympic adventure. We came to Paris for the 2024 Olympic Games, and we could not afford accommodation in the city centre, but this apartment is located very close to a metro station with a direct line to the centre. There are restaurants and supermarkets around, and we had no problems related to safety in the area. The hosts were very nice, they met us on arrival even though we arrived at 11pm, and they welcomed us with a gift and very useful tips. There was also coffee, laundry detergent and some other stuff available for us. The beds were comfy and everything (AC, washing machine, TV, kitchen appliances...) worked well.

LithuaniaThe shabby look of some furniture and appliances. Light dustiness of the room and dishes. Coolness indoors if the weather is cold outside (especially at night). The inability to open windows, as they are ceiling-mounted. Communication with the hosts by phone with some time delay.
A huge apartment with a lot of beds with different levels of mattresses' comfort. It is completely equipped with all functioning home appliances. With clean linens and towels. Polite hosts, who knows several languages (fr, eng, rus). Close to the metro (40 minutes to the city center) and various grocery stores.

IndiaNo cleaning till end of the stay. No toiletries. No lift to climb two floors. No wifi during our stay as renovations going on. One bed making creaking noise. We also heard couple of rats after lights went off.
It is not a lodge. It is like an apartment furnishes and let out for guests. 2 beds and a sofa bed. Kitchen utensils were available. No Toiletries- only body wash provided. Towels and blankets were provided.

United StatesThe description can be misleading. This is a basement with a bunk bed in the corner and a twin bed in the other corner. It’s a small shower but a big room. Can’t use the washer and dryer unless you pay extra. The bathroom is on the opposite side of the room from the shower and it’s a less than half bathroom. The door was hard to lock at times and sometimes you couldn’t even get out. It’s the basement so expect bugs. It’s at a dead end so some Ubers had a hard time finding it.
I liked that it was clean

RomaniaThe only inconvenient was the room temperature. A little bit colder than we were expecting to be.
Very big rooms, enough space for anything ( rarely you can find such an accommodation especially in Paris)

PolandIf you are traveling with many colleagues from work, then in order to keep privacy, maximum number of people for this flat is 4, otherwise fifth or sixth person need to share beds with someone else, which might be problematic :)
Fantastic place, neat the shops and Metro station. Great atmosphere, very spacious, with small garden. Beautifully designed and decorated with many nice and colourful paintings. A lot of space for ideally 2 couples and 1 single. There are 2 double beds and 1 single in 3 bedrooms, plus sofa in a living room, so place is ideal for many people, who don't mind sharing the flat.
