Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyNo complaints at all, we just missed an outdoor area. But there are lots of restaurants and cafés in short walking distance.
Tiny modern hotel right opposite to the Tour Montparnasse and very close to the Montparnasse train & metro station. Big choice of cafés & restaurants nearby. We had a nice 30 minutes walk down to Île de la Cité (Notre Dame mostly renovated except for the back side). The room is pretty big according to french standards with nice modern bathroom. There is a small lift which was helpful for the transport of our luggage. The breakfast room is small, but breakfast was good with a coffee machine, which offers quite a big choice from cappuccino to hot chocolate.

GermanyThe hotel lists parking as an amenity, but you have to park in a garage across the street and pay there or on the street. Not a big problem just a little misleading.
The room was a bit small but perfect for a night or two. Air Conditioner worked great. Location was great for walking around, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Seemed like a very vibrant neighborhood.

Hôtel Montparnasse Saint Germain exceeded our expectations. The staff were exceptionally polite and helpful. The location is fantastic, with easy access to transport, bars, and restaurants. The hotel was spotless, the beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was delightful. We will definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

TaiwanShower room is really too tiny. The sound proofing is very poor. Elevator can’t reach 5F where my room is. Not convenient for people with big luggage.
A tiny room but with everything besides a fridge. Stuff are nice and willing to help.

United StatesI felt the breakfast offerings were small for the price of 18 euros. Some showers had great and others had low pressure. Some front desk staff didn’t seem very happy.

The room was newly renovated, as well as the bathroom. The shower gel and the hand wash were from L'Occitane brand. The room was super clean and although it was faced toward a street side, it wasn't noisy at all. Also, the staff was very friendly

CanadaWe alerted the front desk that the shower was not draining, which is unhygienic, however it seemed like an issue they have heard about many times and seemed to brush it off as unimportant.
The room, although small, was modern and clean.

NetherlandsIt was very cold in my bathroom (in march), while the room was warm. There was also some strange beepy electronic noise coming, seemingly from an airco, even though airco wasn't running.
Very short walk from a metro station and quite a few restaurants etc. Decent bed and shower.

United KingdomStark black and white decor, and a dull view of drainpipes and rooftops out of the only window, but this is of little consequence. Food forbidden in room, which is fairly standard for this sort of hotel, there were plenty of places nearby to eat but I do like a snack. I suppose they want you to not bring spicy, greasy takeaways and I could have eaten a piece of fruit or a chocolate bar with great care (I didn't). No coffee machine or kettle in the room, something which is standard in English B&B's, there was a coffee machine downstairs.
Room was OK, breakfast good. Mainly chosen for location in Montparnasse very close to the Gare SNCF (as I was travelling on to La Rochelle the next day). Dozens of bars and restaurants of every kind, also cinema and theatre nearby. Very busy. This would be a good area to stay, cheaper than central Paris which is extortionate (although not cheap). With a pubic transport pass, this area would be as good as any place to stay for several days seeing the sights of Paris. By the way, the SNCF app works like a dream, I booked 2 rail journeys from England, Paris-La Rochelle and La Rochelle-Nantes, both e-tickets worked on my iPhone really easily. I included a senior rail pass, E49 for a year, 30% discount, which I almost saved enough to pay off on this week's rail travel. On the morning I left, I walked to the nearby Montparnasse Cemetery, 37 acres, and if you are interested in humanity, it's worth a walkabout. Got chatting to an older French man who told me a story of two.

BelgiumThe breakfast left much to be desired, lacking in variety. The corridor outside our room was quite noisy, which could be disturbing for some guests. However, it's worth noting that this noise did not persist into the night, allowing for an undisturbed sleep. The curtains provided enough darkness, also, I couldn't hear the noise from outside.
The room was clean and comfortable, boasting a very convenient location right next to the metro, making it easy to navigate the city. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating, enhancing our overall experience.

United KingdomIt is worth noting as with most hotels in Paris the lift is small, for those of you who struggle with such things. There is coffee from a coffee machine to buy in reception downstairs, though no tea making facilities in the room which is a very small thing, though worth being aware of
Hotel is in a great location for shops, cafes and restaurants as well as the main station at Montparnasse. Although located on the main road, is very quiet inside and tranquil. The staff on reception are always super friendly and welcoming. Good decor and good size rooms with opening windows

South AfricaThe location was perfect. Directly across from Gare Montparnasse and had major buss routes pass by. So many restaurants around and as a Muslim traveler was impressed at the amount of halal options around. The room was spacious and a large bathroom. If you know Paris, space is a luxury so this was great. Staff were so lovely, and even made sure my room was available as early as 9am before official check-in on my arrival day.
